🏁 🏁 And we’re off 💨 yes this year’s Goodwood Revival is underway. Taking place on the outskirts of Chichester, at the world’s only classic race track which remains entirely in its original form…

Immerse yourself in these three days of nostalgia from the traditional flypast of historic planes, the morning parades, recreated races from the glory days of the motor circuit, best dressed competitions for visitors who go that extra mile in their fabulous period outfits from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. At the Richmond Lawn is just one of this year’s must do’s try your hand at the 1950’s style driving simulators 🚗 Could you pass a 1950’s test back then ❓
Over the road get the Revival shopping experience, see the Revival Car Show, see special guest appearances on the Revive & Thrive stages. Also rare and valuable classic cars go under the hammer auction, catch a film at the Sky Cinema 🎞️ or just have some fun on the traditional fair ground rides🎠 Plus there is so much more….

💧💧The complimentary water we give to guests is bottled at source just outside our historic city here on the Sussex and Hampshire border.

Due to the filtration through deep chalk layers of the South Downs the water is enriched high in calcium and low in sodium thus resulting in it being given Natural Mineral Water status by government, meaning it is untouched with no artificial treatments.
It has been drawn from an artesian well which is 420ft below ground for over thirty years now by and is one of the UK’s finest sources. The plastic bottles are made from eco-friendly 💯% recycled plastic which is sourced within the UK and are 💯% recyclable ♻️♻️ So please remember when you have finished with them to put in our recycling bin provided 🚮♻️

Wow 😀 the Big Hoot landed last week here and in Arundel 🦉🦉🦉

This fab Summer Art Trail is a great way to see the city and gain some extra steps…..
Find thirty giant owls all unique and beautifully designed by different artists 🎨
Either pick up a map from the Novium Museum, Chichester Library or the Chestnut Tree House charity shop in North Street or download the Free app to take part and collect rewards, discounts, goodies up for grabs and more 🦉🦉

Also what better way to finish this fun activity, at the end all owl sculptures will be auctioned off with proceeds going to the local children’s hospice, Chestnut Tree House

🏎 Racing towards us this week is ‘Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024’ a action packed four days and all set within the fabulous parkland surrounding Goodwood House here on the outskirts of Chichester 🏎

With MG celebrating their 💯 anniversary the sensational central sculpture in front of Goodwood House will be dedicated for the first time to this iconic brand….

There will be all the normal high speed action from the 1.16 mile hill climb by old and new, road/race cars and bikes! Ending with the selected few going through to Sunday Shootout… ⏱️
Who will set the fastest time ?

Or if you prefer a bit more dust flying, there is always the Forest Rally Stage which twists through the forests on the estate. Find a place in amongst the trees and watch at first hand the Rally Cars passing literally metres away 💨

Yesterday saw the first day of the Chichester Peregrines open days taking place on the Cathedral Green. Here get the chance to watch them through telescopes, view live footage and talk to the dedicated people who make this all possible…..

This year has been an extraordinary one and like no other in the past 23 years ! It all started back in April when the pair decided that they would not use their normal nesting site and chose the north east turret. At the end of April it was almost certain that they had laid their clutch of eggs, so the decision was made to turn off the livestream cameras.
Then start of May we had the horrendous storm, in which it was apparent the nest site had been flooded out. Forward three weeks, an egg has now been laid at the normal nesting turret and so far so good 🤞🏻 it’s halfway through incubation at present…..

Open Days are Wednesday - Sunday from 5th June - 7th July and are free of charge

With the seemingly tranquil Priory Park opposite the cottage, did you know that beneath its surface lies the most complete Roman find in the city….
And tomorrow will see the start of a seventh archaeological dig here to uncover more of its fascinating secrets 🏛️ 🏛️Excavations will run from 21st May - 3rd June, all are welcome to go along and watch. As with previous years there will be a special public day on 1st June, where you can hear about all the discoveries, this will be three talks at 10am, 12noon and 3pm.
Also next week is Roman Week here in Chichester, we have provided the programme of events that will run between 27th May and 1st June from guided tours, storytelling, interactive demonstrations and handle replica Roman weapons.

Artists are in all kinds of different locations from their own homes, studios or shared venues. Purchase a special piece of artwork from the creator or commissions are often welcomed. As well as seeing demonstration’s, in some cases you can sign up for a workshop experience 🎨🖌️ there is something for everyone to get inspiration from 😉

Whilst here with us be sure to keep an eye out for Chichester’s Street Art adorning some most unexpected spaces in the city 🎨🖌️

Back in May 2013 saw Chichester’s first Street Art Festival in which several street artists from around the world created amazing artwork in a number of locations !
This very large mural is just one which was only created on a weekend back in June of last year to celebrate ten years on…. It’s by Italian born artist Giacomo Bufarini known as RUN, his art works can be found on streets over the world!

As you may or may not know the Repair Shop team are back at the barn now filming for the next series… and this weekend 16th - 17th March you can get the chance to see inside the amazing 17th/18th century Court Barn where filming takes place for this remarkable show❗️

This year hopefully there will be one weekend a month for you to take a peek inside the Repair Shop barn, starting this month until August, but will depend upon filming schedules.
