20mins drive from The Brambles…Two walks with our binos in two days up at Lords Piece ( Coates Common ) Far from the madding crowd, we passed no one yesterday and only a few dog walkers today. Beautiful velvety black cattle roaming free, lots of butterflies, the tak tak of multiple Stonechats perched on gorse twigs and the call of Stock Doves … perfect weekend without spending a penny! 😉
Blue skies and Red Arrows over The Brambles garden today - our guests are at Goodwood Festival of Speed for the four days - the benefit of living so close means we get to see some of the action too☺️
Red Arrows over The Brambles
We were lucky with the☀️!First visit with pals to Woolbeding Gardens. Quite possibly the loveliest gardens I’ve ever been to - next to the River Rother, it’s described as a horticultural haven. You can actually feel yourself relax as you walk the paths. With the vast ten sided kinetic greenhouse at the end of the Silk Route Garden, it’s a completely chilled experience. Park and ride are provided with the £12 admission ticket . Can’t wait to go back !
There’s nowhere we’d rather have been this morning! The tail-end of the bluebells, clear views for miles, complete peace, and cowslips …. Slindon Folly - ten mins drive from The Brambles
It’s virtually full occupancy of our nest boxes this Spring !! Resident noisy house sparrow chicks in the one attached to our gateway ☺️❤️
The view from the top of Kingley Vale this morning - perfection 💚
Suddenly the rain stopped this afternoon, the sun came out and so did the dragonflies!
We have availability from mid October so if you fancy an Autumn getaway do get in touch. There is still lots to do in this area as the days get shorter. Last weeks guests raved about the show they went to see at The Minerva Theatre in Chichester https://www.cft.org.uk/whats-on and Fishbourne Roman Palace and Gardens https://sussexpast.co.uk/attraction/fishbourne-roman-palace/
Ten minutes drive from The Brambles, Slindon Estate criss-crossed with multiple paths for long or short hikes. Tonight a half hour loop . The owls were very vocal ! Perfect ❤️
The Brambles garden is alive with gregarious sparrows in the mornings . This gang of early morning bathers were jostling at the ‘pool’ yesterday - always entertaining for our guests ☺️
