After changing the motorbike last year to the new out model from it’s obvious on this years Moto tour we need to ride the famous , this pass is highest paved in the western alps at a height of of 2757 metres (just over 9000ft)
We have planned to ride first thing in the morning and have a hotel booked in Switzerland the night before as we@head into Italy, hopefully before the busy traffic,
It would of only been open a week maybe a couple of weeks or less,

September this year we head to the amazing southern Alps, mainly concentrating in the area of the Mercontour and Roya valley.
This amazing area is often missed by many, with amazing routes, and medieval villages, along with multiple abandoned forts and other relicts, including a WW2 tank (as shown in photo) hidden deep within the national park,

In June we head off on a Moto tour, though the Black Forest, into Switzerland as we head to the Dolomites, we will be crossing some amazing mountain pass’s including the Furka Pass, it is one of the most impressive and scenic roads in Europe. With its hairpin curves and dramatic elevations, it rises more than 2,400 meters above sea level.

This mountain pass is famous not only for its challenging route, but also for being a setting for the iconic James Bond film “Goldfinger.”

Back in 2019 we ran a Pyrenees tour on the west side, from the Atlantic in a U shape finishing in the desert, the trails are less used that side and can be more challenging in places,

It was super nice weather as can be seen, the Pyrenees is an amazing area, and stunning to visit in the Autumn.

Morocco and the stunning Sahara desert,

Every time we cross the desert we have taken a slightly different route, our next trip in April 2025 will again see a different route as we head to the desert town of Zagorra, pass the famous “52 days to Timbuktu” sign and head south, making sure we spend the obligatory night camped in the desert.

As per normal these trips fill up fast, April will soon be here,

Carrying on from yesterdays post on vehicles and the loads they carry, this one shows what to do when the bus is full, Leaving a remote mountain village in the high Atlas Mountains, time was about 4pm so school was finishing and others heading home, track was fairly busy.
