Want to know a secret? Spring is our favourite time to visit the beach! 🌊We love walking along the long promenade on the seafront in Clacton, which goes all the way from Martello to the Pier and beyond! It's wheelchair friendly (we recommend starting your walk at Martello end due to easier ramp access) and we love enjoying this walk and the stunning views without the crowds in Spring.

Following some helpful feedback, we have added a second grab rail in our accessible bathroom, with one each side of the toilet. These can be raised if they are not required, and we also have a commode available to use.

⭐️Spotlight on: Accessible Bathroom 🛁

Our large accessible bathroom is a step-free wet-room. The ceiling hoist tracks from the accessible bedroom and can move around the whole bathroom easily.

The sink can be raised or lowered with a remote control. The remote control can also control the taps and plug. There is a grab rail to the left of the sink.

The shower has a fixed grab rail and guests can choose to request a shower stool, tilt-in-space shower chair or shower bed/trolley.

The toilet has two drop-down grab-rails (note some photos show one, but a second has been added). A frame/commode chair is also available.

⭐️Spotlight on: Accessible Bedroom 🛏️

Our accessible bedroom has been designed to be comfy and cosy, giving that ‘home away from home’ feeling.

Entering via the widened doorway, the room is very spacious and ideal for moving around easily. The profiling bed comes with padded sides and the ceiling hoist can travel easily around the whole room. This ceiling hoist also tracks into the large en suite bathroom.

An EasyGo transfer aid and mobile hoist are also available if required.

Next to the profiling bed is a comfortable chair which can be made up as a single sofa bed, allowing someone to sleep alongside the profiling bed.

Plenty of storage is available, with a chest of drawers and an open wardrobe.

A large wall-mounted TV provides entertainment, and the remote controlled candles allow you to set the mood.

Top tip: This is the best room to catch the beautiful sunsets!

Introducing... The Rose Marie Lodge! The only accessible holiday home in the seaside town of Clacton-on-Sea, Essex.

Rose Marie Lodge is a charming bungalow which can sleep up to 8 guests. We have a range of equipment available to make your stay comfortable, and the downstairs is fully wheelchair accessible.

The heart of the house is the open plan living area, with a modern kitchen/dining room and open plan lounge with smart TV. Large patio doors open onto a single level patio and a ramp leads you down to the large enclosed garden.

One downstairs bedroom features a profiling bed and ceiling hoist which travels through to the en-suite wet room. A single sofa bed can be set up alongside the profiling bed if required.

The wet room itself is a large, well-equipped bathroom with high/low sink, mobile shower trolley, tilting shower chair, shower stool, commode and grab rails. A mobile hoist is also available for use if required.

Downstairs you’ll also find a double bedroom with separate bathroom, as well as a snug which is perfect for taking some time out. The snug can be set up as a sofa bed to add an additional bedroom if required. Upstairs you’ll find a large double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

There is off-road parking available for one large WAV and one car. There are two doors to access the house - one at the front via a ramp, or wide door down the side of the house suitable for wheelchairs.

We understand that pets are family too, which is why this bungalow is dog-friendly. WiFi is available throughout and heating controlled via thermostat.

Location: The house is located just a 5 minute drive from Clacton-on-Sea seafront and main town. There are a number of amenities just a few minutes walk away, including a small supermarket, fish and chip shop and a lovely cafe.
