It's raining again so we've Pollution Risk Forecasts or a Pollution Incident??? Cleethorpes Beach and Humberston Fitties. In 2023 the number of sewage overspills where significantly higher than 2022 with Pyewipe overspilling 211 times for a total of 1,232 hours. Is this acceptable? We've not gained the Blue Flag Status as the data is 'good' but not good enough... What is Good? and what should be the case in regards to how much sewage goes into our bathing water??

Safety info for anyone planning Caledonian Canal trips /great Glen Trail from the SCA.
If you have an incident or situation that causes problems and could result in a more serious accident then reporting as a near miss can help inform others. This then helps NGBs such as British Canoeing /Scottish Canoe Association etc.. Share info. This includes the sea and they work closely with the RNLI to collate info to support guidance. Free advice on how to do this from Caroline Carr pm or call into LaCuna for more info

Dear Anglian Water, please tell us if the sewage overspills that pollute Cleethorpes Beach will stop so we can enjoy swimming in our sea, delivering paddeboarding coaching and beach schools again in 2024. In 2023 their has been sewage overspills consistently after every rain fall when the tide is high. This week waste sanitory products and used wetwipes on our beautiful beach. Last month you sent an engineer to fix the problem.. 😂😂💩...when it appears unfixable I don't know? Full Moon Sea dips cancelled due to water quality. Jobs lost, business lost and so much more. I'm fairly sure I've ruffled a few seabird feathers and far more by flagging up the issues with pollution in our seas and particularly here in Cleethorpes. The water has been my passion all my life and I've seen so many changes in both climate and how we pollute. Yes sewage was here back in the past and yes we coped with it. However today's society has a much bigger blame culture and one that sues if they feel wronged. Our concern with SUP and our Beach Schools are what are consequences for our clients and ecoli has always been a concern with the more recent regular sewage overspill. What could happen and how do we negate that risk. Are we insured? Are we being responsible? Do we just put a disclaimer saying.water pollution alert? Do we just not mention it? Since our initial campaign and protest going back to 2021 we've successfully predicted 80% of sewage releases due to conditions, tides and weather. Why would even bother trying to run a business where people are exposed to ecoli whilst 'enjoying' our coast? How does that help tourism if people get sickness & diaherrea when on holiday? I foont have any of the answers for this although I am hoping Anglian Water will as they do appear to be taking our situation seriously. Let's hope we get some answers that mean a change of heart and more getting back to what we love. My heart goes out to this young lady and her situation and hope all becomes better for her

Free advice on all thing SUPs, canoes and kayaks. These SUPs come with no safety advice as per other SUPs through more recognised brands and watersports dealers. Safety paramount on water and if your buying please do get advice from a qualified coach. I offer free unbiased advice and happy to help

Whatever your experience, if you’re heading out paddling, follow our 'SUP'er safety tips:
✅ Take a fully charged phone in a waterproof pouch 📱
✅ Buddy up - go with someone else if you can 👭
✅ Tell someone where you're going/when you'll be back
✅ Check weather and tides. If in doubt, don’t go out ☂️
✅ Always wear a Personal Flotation Device and leash 🌊

Make sure you can reach your phone so you can call for our help if you need it - even the most experienced can get caught out.

🚨 Remember, in an emergency at the coast, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard. For inland emergencies dial 999 and ask for Fire & Rescue & Police.🚨

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙢𝙚 𝙍𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙁𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙡 𝙞𝙨 𝘽𝙖𝙘𝙠!

For the first time since 2019, pre-covid, GSCC and the Ancholme Rowing Club are again joining forces to offer try-it sessions in canoe/kayak and rowing for the general public.

As before, this is held at the rowing club's premises on Manley Gardens, due to their proximity to the Farmers Market Day. It is spring Bank Holiday Weekend and the day before the Brigg Bomber Quadrathlon.

This is always a popular event and volunteers are needed to:

*Staff our market stall.
*Hand out A5 flyers to the public: 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙅𝙤𝙗! and a great job for our youngsters!
*Direct people to the rowing club on Manly Gardens
*Assist people getting kitted out with safety gear and fitted into kayaks
*Coaches are required to please!
