What a lovely week! ☀️😍

Lots of trips out with clients enjoying the sunshine!

Pictured is my trip to National Trust Tyntesfield with Margaret earlier this week. We enjoyed coffee and a toasted teacake sat out in the courtyard, and after a trip round the grounds on the accessible shuttle bus, we treated ourselves to some new plants! 🪴🌹

I had a surprise gift this week! 🥰💐

The wonderful Alive Activities has been marking at their meeting centres this week and helping members to create flower arrangements to give to those who support them 🥰

My lovely client Stan, who I regularly take to the Portishead and Nailsea groups, presented me with this when I picked him up on Thursday. It really made my day 💞

I'd like to recognize and celebrate the incredible dedication of all the carers I meet (both paid and unpaid loved ones). My transportation and companionship service is here to support carers, hopefully helping to make life a little eaiser, you all do an incredible job - Thank you to all of you 🙏🤩👏👏

A four legged companion this morning!! 🐶😍😂

When a client asked if I would mind his nephews dog what they had brunch at the Ivy this morning I was delighted to do so!

I love dogs, and this little beauty was a pleasure to spend time with as we strolled around the downs overlooking the Avongorge and suspension bridge.

Companionship is one of the favourite parts of my job 🥰

This is a picture of my client Tony and I doing some printing together at a local arts and crafts group for people living with Dementia.

Not only does visiting this group give Tony a chance to socialise and interact with others, it also provides the opportunity for him focus on a task and stay active.

I am delighted to now be in a position to recruit an additional companion driver to join me at Driving Miss Daisy Clevedon! 🥳🎉

I am looking for a kind, friendly and caring individual who enjoys driving and supporting people who need a little extra assistance in their life.

Hours and days of working can be discussed to suit your personal circumstances. Term-time only contracts are an option, as is the opportunity to work as a self-employed companion driver, on a freelance basis. Vehicle is supplied.

Working as a companion driver for Driving Miss Daisy Clevedon, you will meet a variety of clients, helping to get them to appointments, social clubs, relatives homes, holiday destinations as well as accompanying some whilst at their destinations, providing companionship and assistance.

You will need to be happy to do the following (all funded):
Qualify as a Private hire taxi driver by completing courses and tests
Complete an enhanced criminal record check (DBS) on the update service
Complete a First Aid course
Become a Dementia Friend
Complete wheelchair onboarding and handling training

Successful applicants will have:
A caring and compassionate nature
Be patient and a good listener
Able to adapt to different situations and clients with a variety of disabilities or mental health conditions
Have a sense of fun and feel comfortable making conversation with clients
Be fluent in English and have basic IT skills to access our online booking system

We believe we make a real difference to both our clients and their close families lives and are trusted to support people who are often vulnerable and lonely, a responsibility we take very seriously. Spring has finally sprung!! 🌞🌹🌸🥳

It has been so lovely to see some sunshine this week and to be able to enjoy time outside 🥰🏞

One of my favourite places to visit in the Spring is National Trust Tyntesfield
I have a National Art pass which allows me to take a client in for free. There is so much to see around the amazing grounds, in the historic house and lovely cafes to stop and rest in.

Tyntesfield is accessible to all, with a mobility shuttle to assist those in a wheelchair or with limited mobility, scooter hire and plenty of accessible toilets.

Today I am supporting those living with Parkinson's, and helping raise awareness of the symptoms and understanding of the disease. 💙

Around 153,000 people live with Parkinson’s in the UK. And it's the fastest growing neurological condition in the world. It's important to do what you can to stay physically and mentally healthy if you have Parkinson's disease.

I support a number of clients living with this condition to get out and about and continue to enjoy life. They never cease to amaze me with their positivity and determination to live well. 🥰

'Oh what a beautiful morning' 🎵🎶

This song, and many other classics, has been stuck in my head since watching the musical Oklahoma with a client yesterday at The Playhouse, Weston-super-Mare

This fab show was put on by Weston super Mare Operatic Society and we enjoyed every minute of it 🎶🎭🎵

The lady I was accompanying is a wheelchair user and we found the accessibility of The Playhouse theatre easy, with a great view of the stage from the accessible seating area.

If you, or someone you know, loves theatre and would enjoy a trip to see a show, I can make it happen. From booking the tickets to ordering the interval refreshments, I can organise everything, so all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the production 💃🕺

I can either just provide the transport and support getting into the theatre, or I can accompany clients into the show (although I can't promise not to sing - badly 🙉😂).

My lovely dance teacher daughter Hannah is starting a new accessible dance and movement class this Friday, 2-3pm, in Clevedon Community Centre and the Princes Hall . It is suitable for all levels of mobilty and participants can remain seated if they wish.
The class is aimed at over 55's, no dance experience is necessary, it's all about having fun, enjoying movement to music. 💃🕺

Meet my newest recruit - Daisy 3 (Louie!)🌼🐶🌼

Louie joined our family last weekend and is settling in well, he particularly loves picking the Daisies from the lawn and running off with them!! 🙈🐶😂

Driving Miss Daisy is happy to transport your pet, whether it is to the vet or on a trip out or on holiday with you. We can also bring Louie to visit clients if they are missing a furry friend and would enjoy a cuddle 🥰

Greetings from Lynmouth on Mother's day! 🌞💐🥰

Today I have brought a client to have lunch with her daughter, who lives nearby. Whilst they spend some quality time together, I am enjoying the scenery and thinking of my own Mum, who passed in 2020, and would of loved it here 🥰🥰

Spending time with loved ones is the most special gift there is, and if I can help bring you together, please get in touch.

I can collect from care homes, provide wheelchair transport if required, or be a support to someone living with dementia.

I am now looking for additional companion drivers, to join me at Driving Miss Daisy Clevedon.

Companion drivers will be part-time with hours to suit other committments. All Driving Miss Daisy companion drivers are required to get a Private Hire Licence, have a clean driving licence and have an enhanced DBS check, along with first aid and safe guarding training. All costs for these requirements will be covered.

What a fab weekend!! 🤩

I've spent two days enjoying wonderful entertainment, accompanying clients to local shows 🎶🎭🎵

On Saturday we went to watch Clevedon Comedy Theatre Club production of Dick Whittington 💰🐈‍⬛️ I accompanied a lovely lady, who like me, enjoys musical theatre and watching shows. We had a great time watching the talented cast, laughing at the bad jokes and booing the king rat!! 😁

Today I had the pleasure of taking Tony, a regular client, to a 'Robert Burns afternoon' at the Tithe Barn in Nailsea, hosted by Memories at The Barn . We enjoyed listening to an amazing band play some well known Scottish folk music and songs by Robert Burns, supported by the Nailsea Barn Owls - a fabulous choir for people living with dementia and their carers.
There was lots of laughter, singing and clapping along (Donald where's your troosers was a particular favourite!) then once the Haggis was addressed we got the chance to sample some, along with a dram of..... gingerale!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What a fabulous weekend at these all inclusive, accessible events 🤩🥰

I was part of a Daisy chain this week! 🌼🌼

Driving Miss Daisy Clevedon and Driving Miss Daisy Sutton Coldfield & Surrounding Areas shared a long journey, transferring a wonderful client from a nursing home in Skegness to one in Weston-Super-Mare. We were able to complete this 245 mile trip in a day by splitting the journey and providing a fresh driver for each leg of it.

One of the great benefits of the Driving Miss Daisy network is that there are franchises based all around the UK, making long journeys possible to bring families closer to each other or to make holiday destinations possible.

It is not just long journeys we can help with, we can provide wheelchair accessible transport for any length of trip and can also accompany clients when at their destination if required.

I am delighted to share with you that I have purchased my second vehicle! 🥳🥳

So very soon I will be a two car operation, with two companion drivers available to help our lovely clients get out and about. Both cars are wheelchair accessible, and able to transport up to two other passengers along with a wheelchair traveller. 👨‍🦼👫

Thank you to everyone who has used, recommended or supported my service so far. It is only because of you that I am now in a position to expand and I am very grateful to you all 🙏
