These carvings, in English oak, are to be used on marker posts on a local nature trail as replacements for some which have suffered as a result of seven years wind, frost, sun and rain.

Another Green Man or Jack 0' the Woods, carved in elm, and heavily oiled to withstand outside exposure. The "face among the leaves" is an ancient fertility figure to be found in many parts of the world. In this country often found in remote corners of churches and cathedrals, where carvers thought it wise to acknowledge both old and new religions.

Freddie Fox!
Carved in elm. The way the profile of the fox matches the natural grain of the background makes this carving special. The staining of the fox tones down the grain in the head, where it could have been obtrusive.

Moonshining Mountaineer carved in lime

Inspired by the picture of an ice-carving in Michigan, this piece was carved from lime, then stained and mounted in a mahogany frame. Entitled, variously, as "The First Lootenant" or "Privy Councillor"!
