Coming this Sunday to our YouTube channel is the first episode of a new series called Cotswold Walks 🚶🏼

In this series, we'll be exploring the many adventurous footpaths and circular walks that criss-cross the AONB. We'll observe the beautiful views, the wildlife and the horticulture, and as usual, there'll be a little helping of history about nearby places 📖

What better place to start than in the world famous Blenheim Palace?

Today the Woodbridge Town Council and the Woodbridge Riverside Trust are due to discuss a new 'side letter' to their lease agreement that will continue to restrict the Sutton Hoo Ship's Company's use of the Longshed. The Ship's Company is not a signatory to this side letter and maintains that it should have use of the whole building, as originally planned.

We deeply regret the ongoing dispute and are seeking tirelessly to resolve the situation so that we can direct all of our energy towards the real work of reconstructing the Sutton Hoo burial ship.

For those wishing to understand the background of it all and how it got to this point, as well as what our next steps might be, please read more at the following link: https://saxonship.org/longshed-dispute/

De Vere House

“Lavenham is reputedly Britain’s finest medieval village (with over 300 grade listed heritage properties and appearing as Godric’s Hollow in the Harry Potter films). De Vere House is located in the centre of this pretty village and itself offers a wealth of history and interest as well as comfortable accommodation.”

I am sure you will agree it is a very beautiful building

Don't Step on a Bee Day raises awareness about the importance of bees in our ecosystem and promoting their protection.

Here are five things that you can do to help the bees:

🐝 Plant through the seasons to provide a year-round bee habitat for them.

🐝 Add a mix of bee-friendly seeds and grow plants, fruit and veg to your outdoor space.

🐝 Support your local beekeeper and farm shop. 85% of honey in the UK is imported. Enjoy the honey produced by local bees from local flowers!

🐝 Use peat-free compost to save wildlife habitats

🐝 Rest the lawnmower. Give bees shelter by letting the grass grow, which also gives food for bees and butterflies, or perhaps leave a little wildflower area for insects and pollinators.

Here in the UK, we have one species of Honeybee, 24 species of Bumblebees and around 240 species of Solitary bees who come in a wide variety of sizes, shapes and lifestyles.

Look out for them in your garden or outdoor space!
