It says 20 mins! 🫣🫢😆 it definitely doesn't take 20 mins.... I'd say 10! 🫣 (keeping to the speed limit)!

You can even hop on the ferry and go across to Donegal for a trip, dip or a sip!

Beach Life ⛱️

Its only a 4 minute drive away (obviously keeping within speed limit) 🫠

There is nowhere else I'd rather be, than dandering on this beach... 🫶

Castlerock is one of thee nicest beaches we have on our huge coastline of lush sandy beaches.

We also have Downhill, Magillan and Benone all stunning-miles, and miles of stunning views, walks and sand dunnes.

🐕 Dog Friendly 🐕

It's the Paw'fect place to stay now! 😅

Our "furbabies" were rehomed, and love their home comforts, so we have one of my friends or family move into our own home to look after them, or we take them with us! They are not spoilt at all 😅

We decided that really anyone going away really wants their dogs with the too! So, Quilly is now Dog friendly, for well-behaved dogs (and owners)!

Our drawing room and bedrooms are out of bounds (apart from one), but the Green Snug room is pawfect for a cuddle, and everywhere else, we are more than happy to make your pups at home.

Shorter stays also now available that we have got into the swing of things 😀

So, give your dog a break - they will love all the country walks, beach walks, forest walks, and eating in dog friendly places. (Please
tag dog friendly restaurants/cafes - we will add them to our location book).

We had a fab break ourselves with our pups and they enjoyed eating out with their wee blanket below them! 🫶

Appreciation Post...

We are grateful to all of you who tagged local cleaning services.

I had interviews lined up, and some people come into your life just by chance, and I was grateful that Shona and her lovely family business did just that... will be working with us in keeping our lovely home sparkly clean. 🫶 Its difficult handing your home over, but they are just kind, genuine, people with similar values to us. They also Love Cleaning!!

One thing that really was important to me is that they use Eco/Pet friendly products, zero chemicals and they also get refills which reduces plastic waste. We are delighted that they use TruWASH products throughout the house. 🐝🦋🐕‍🦺🐕🦔🌎

We hit it off straight away, and could have sat talking for hours... I think we have the best wee team looking after all for us. 🙏

As things develop and we are learning the ropes at renting out our home, we are getting lots of tips, and advice from others already offering AirBnB, to which we want to say a massive Thankyou to each of you who have sent me little messages. Its lovely that we have so many friends, and absolute strangers who have got in touch.

Watch the space - I will have another announcement next week - that will get a lot of you just a little bit excited about coming to stay at Quilly! 😍

Job opportunity!

If you know someone who is flexible, looking for a few hours cleaning for the Monday turnaround.

You will be responsible for:- 🛌changing beds
🧻towels,
🚽Toilets, bathrooms, showers.
🧹Floors, hoovering, dusting skirting boards, (hoovering in corners a must).
🍳Cookers, ovens (and trays inside ovens.
Benches, doors,
General house tidy each week.
Using a long fluffy brush for cobwebs etc.

Please note we will go through what is expected, as a high standard is required.

Must be reliable, contentious, own car, and care about having the house look it's best for our next guests.

We are delighted to announce that we have now listed our home on Airbnb, for others to enjoy the ambience, peaceful, and qirky home with all the traditional features.

We know that we have lots more work to do, but for now, we look forward to welcoming you our guests on our journey and look forward to updating, renovating the space as and when we can.

We have applied to TNI for their approval, and hope to have this in place very soon.

In the meantime, please read through all the information online as we should have answered most of your questions.

Main one being... we are only allowing 7 night bookings just for now until we get into the swing of things, and get up and running.

Only a few minutes drive from Quilly, or if you're feeling adventurous, you could take a dander.

Beautiful walks, various routes, and views of Downhill Beach.

It's one of my favourite places, even better on a cold day when the beach isn't packed. 💛

🌻Event Booked Out 🌻

We are delighted to finally have our first BBQ event at Quilly in well over two years.

We are doing things a little different and just going to try this one and see how it goes.

This time we will cook outdoors, and enjoy the food in the dining room. It's still a little cold outdoors.

We will advertise any other events or dates in due course, so please just keep an eye on social media.

𝔽𝕦𝕟 𝔽𝕣𝕚𝕕𝕒𝕪 Facts

Did you know that we spent over five years slowly renovating the house. It wasnt easy and most people told Richard and I to knock it down. But we loved the setting, the gardens, and peaceful, tranquil house, it has so much character about it, and most importantly we could see our future in it.

This is only one of the curve balls that was thrown at us, dry rot! To anyone who has experienced it will know - its a nighmare and we had to gut each room again after completing it fully around 10 years ago. Thankfully we had an amazing team of people around us who knew what they were doing, and were able to keep as many orginal features as possible.

We will always try and keep the features, they have so much character and if only they could tell us some of the stories! 😉

Our dining room was enjoyed by so many pre-covid, for now we are closed, but we are working away in the background with a very exciting project.

Our oilseed is in full bloom at the moment, we also have lots of spring oilseed planted to take us through 2022.

Our bees are loving the weather and also the intermittent sunshine!

The circle is around the Queen bee!
