The Wonderful market returns this Saturday.
It’s a week later than usual due to those horrible storms. However, the forecast is for it to be dry and bright this weekend.

A traditional Christmas market delayed by the strong winds and heavy rain of Storm Darragh last weekend is to go-ahead in Doncaster this Saturday. ⬇️

Who’s coming??
We did not cancel, merely postpone. The weather forecast is looking rather bright for the weekend. The long range outlook is considerably better than it was a week ago.

Market Postponed until Saturday 14th December.

URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT:
The Market will be delayed by a week.....
The decision is tough but we have to keep everyone's safety in mind. From the traders and volunteers to all you guys attending. The forecast is getting progressively worse. The best thing we can do is move it back by a week to SATURDAY the 14th DECEMBER.
We have the support of the council who have a team waiting to re accept our application for the event and the road closure. They will like us pull out all the stop to transfer it. We are in contact with all our traders and are currently advising of the move.
With storm Darragh on the western part of Ireland and heading to us in the next 24hrs its the right thing to do.
We need your help now to share this far and wide. Tag your friends let them know, were not cancelling just a move.- we will re open the books to accept other stalls for people who were not available.

See you on the 14th!

We have pedestrianised the centre again for this event for the safety and wellbeing of all.
The Conisbrough Community Library will be open with loads going on during the day.

The St. Peter's Church, Conisbrough will be open and their Christmas Fayre will run along side the market (10-2)

Pubs, Bars & Restaurants open serving food and drink all day.

Funfair by Tubys funfairs

It is set to be a great day.

Are you coming to the Market? It's not too long now until Conisbrough centre is transformed into our annual Christmas Market.
The event has lots of things planned in from gifting ideas for Christmas, wreathes to hang on your door, candles to make your house smell devine. We also have things to eat & drink. It would not be the same with a hot mug of Glühwein and some Christmas Carols playing in the background. With the pubs bars and restaurants opening up to let you rest those feet and fill up.
Keep your eyes peeled over the next week as we take a closer look at the market and what's going on....

Fantastic turnout at the annual Remembrance event at Conisbrough this morning. It was good to see ITV News ITV Calendar in attendance documenting the event. We’re not too sure if it will be used today (18:45) or tomorrow (18:00) or even both.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the different people and community groups that have managed to come together to make it happen and look so beautiful putting in hours and hours of work to make sure it was a safe and memorable event.

We have had lots of comments on how fabulous our area looks and the work that has gone into all of this weekend.

We have paid £750 to The British Legion Poppy Appeal.

This Sunday sees the annual service of remembrance for those who have fallen in all conflicts.
The business forum are proud supporters of this event offering our insurance to make the parade possible. Please attend if you can or take a moment at 11am to stop and reflect as the country falls silent to observe the two minutes silence.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning. We Will Remember Them.

We’re not all fond of the dark nights. We know some people have to walk and don’t always feel 100% safe in our village. It’s sad but a true reality.

Strut Safe is a nationwide phone line which is run by volunteers to keep you company and help you feel safe on your walk home.
Their phone lines are open:
▪️ Fridays & Saturdays, 7pm to 3am
▪️ Sundays, 7pm to 1am

Their volunteers will help you feel safe until you are through the front door.

Finally we can say that theyre all up!

This is our first attempt of doing this so your patience is appreciated. We ordered 150 and have sold 150. They are now all placed around the village. Working away from the Cenotaph along low road in each direction and then up and into the village.
We’ve tried to follow busy areas where they will be seen - New Hill, High Street, Church Strert and towards the doctors and schools.
More are up Sheffield road, Micklebring grove on the X3 route and down old road.

It’s going to take a little bit of time to correlate the lamp number to the poppy number. As soon as this is completed it will be shared on here.

As loads of you will have spotted the poppies on lamppost collection is growing. We are only a small team and putting them up between our 9-5 jobs and collating where they are. As soon as we have finished getting them on the columns we will share the lamp number that corresponds to your poppy location.
