We’re back from an 8 week motorhome adventure around France, Spain and Portugal. We found some winter sun and enjoyed every place we visited (all 48 of them) waking up to some superb sunrises. But none of them match the views from Miner’s Cottage. It’s so lovely to be back in our happy place and waking up to this view ❤️

Our Story

After many trips to the Lake District, we purchased Miner's Cottage in April 2012. The cottage was dated to the 1070’s era, with a kitchen to match, the fire place had been bricked over and there was no bathroom upstairs. We spent the remainder of 2012 carrying out a complete refurbishment to restore many original features, restructuring upstairs to install the all important family sized bathroom.

The Cottage has let since December 2012 and we have had nothing but positive feedback from our guests. The cottage is spacious (guests tell us the photo’s don't do it justice) and is presented & maintained to a very high standard, ensuring that our guests have a thoroughly enjoyable stay all year round. A cool and charming cottage in Summer, and warm and cosy in Winter with a log burning stove.

We try to get to the cottage as often as possible. We’ve made some wonderful friends in the Village and we love the atmosphere of the local public houses.....as well as the cold beers and well kept real ales!
