LLYN BRENIG is an outdoor activity centre. You will find walking, fishing, mountain bike hire and sailing. The reception cente has a great cafe with stunning views over the lake.

The mist was hanging over the hills surrounding LAKE CRAFNANT this morning. It didn't seem to dampen the spirits of the fishermen drifting around in their rowing boat.

A walk over the SYCHNANT PASS is great for the amazing views from its many vantage points. It also seems to be the right time of year for the heather and gorse to be in full bloom. You may also bump into the wild horses. They look quite small and well adapted to the harsh environment.

ROSNEIGR on the west coast of ANGLESEY is a mecca for boat lovers. There are sail boats, dinghies, sail boards, speed boats all launched from the beach.

CEMAES BAY is in the North of ANGELESY and is a great place to call in on when you do your circuit of the island. A great beach, small harbour and a couple of good pubs to eat at.

LLANGOLLEN on a sunny weekend provide plenty to see and do. Steam railway, canal boat pulled by horse power, amazing aquaduct, down by the river, plenty of cafes and eateries.

PENMON POINT on the South East corner of ANGLESEY is down a private road with a £3 toll charge, but it is really worth the small charge as you get this amazing view at the end. The deep water channel leading to the MENAI STRAITS lies between the light house and PUFFIN ISLAND.

CRICCIETH is between PWLLHELI and PORTHMADOG and worth a stop off. There is a double bay with great sand as well as a castle on the headland. Try the icecream from CADWALADERS.

LLANBEDROG on the South coast of the LLYN PENINSULA has a lovely bay for a gentle stroll in the sunshine. There is a National Trust car park next to the beach as well as a recently refurbished cafe on the way down to the beach. Well worth a visit.

NANT GWRTHEYRN in on the North coast of the LLYN PENINSULA and is a former quarry village for the nearby granite quarry. It fell into disrepair after the work finished but was revived and revitalised into a Welsh language school and wedding venue. Pop in for Sunday lunch or just a coffee and cake. The views are amazing.

TREFOR on the LLYN PENINSULA is hard to beat on a lazy sunny Sunday afternoon.

The MAWDDACH TRAIL goes from DOLGELLAU to BARMOUTH and follows the line of the old railway track for 15km. You can still see the signals in the first photo. It is suitable for walkers as well as bikes. The views of the estuary are stunning all along the bank.

This could easily be SNOWDONIA but it is actually LAKE CONISTON in the LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK.

The SYGUN COPPER MINE just outside BEDDGELERT is open all year and gives you a great insight into how the mines were worked by hand. You pick up your hard hat, then it is up to you for your underground self guided tour.
Park in the village and walk upstream by the river about 3.5km. In season, the rhododendron on the hill sides are an amazing specticle and attract people from all over the UK.
