….Bayside Flames have won the Lana Clelland u13 East League Title !!

A very proud Coach Stuart Inglis shared his views on winning the league:

“What an achievement for the girls. The team have worked so hard in tough circumstances over the last two years to get to where they are today – this year alone since the start of May they’ve played over 50 games as we’ve mixed playing in with girls at under 11 & under 13 level with the 2011 boys at Fife Soccer 7s.

This success is particularly impressive given our team is an under 10 group playing up against girls 2 or 3 years older. The girls have had to adapt from a team that is technically good to one that now quickly moves the ball about the pitch, and they’ve applied themselves well and listened (most of the time!) in training to do this – when it does come together some of the football they’ve played this year both individually and collectively has been sensational.

The team are such a close-knit group and it’s been amazing to see them develop so far – both from a footballing perspective but also as friends – always training and playing with bundles of energy and smiles on their faces and working hard for each other in games. The future looks very bright for these kids, as a coach you couldn’t ask for anything more.”

Coach Jamie, who has put in a massive amount of time and effort over the last few years to help the girls develop commented:

“I’m unbelievably proud of the team from the players to the parents, the commitment and enthusiasm they show to themselves and each other to challenge and progress as a group is infectious, and its no wonder they are showcasing their abilities at an advanced level. A pleasure to coach”.

Next year the girls will focus mainly on Fife Soccer 7s, following the pathway up to 9 a side.
