Earlier this week some of our team were in London installing a large pontoon to take a lifting gantry. The pontoon was assembled around the tower with a walkway ashore. Supplied with an access/diving ladder and 10 of our timber bog mats.

Our tracked carrier out last week in Aldershot moving steelwork up a steep embankment to the bridge. The sections were delivered by hiab lorry and lifted onto the bed of our tracked carrier and secured to the bed. Once at the top of the embankment the steelwork was unloaded in position to be installed under the bridge for strengthening works.

We have 2 of these great tracked carriers for hire! Capable of carrying 1.2 tonne over rough and difficult terrain, with non-marking rubber tracks.

The TC1 carrier is the solution for transport of long, heavy materials, equipment and pontoons at a project site. The carrier is compact and just 80 cm wide, and items can be placed on it in the length or width. The radio remote controlled carrier is perfect for transporting material, such as steel beams, through small access doors and less easily accessible areas. No more heavy lifting for your personnel. Ergonomic, efficient and safe!

Operate inside buildings and covered areas with Zero-Emission, long battery life allows for a full days work on one charge.

For more information about this machine drop us a message.
Available to hire for one day, one week or long term options.

Extending our capabilities for delivering our pontoons, boats and equipment to those really hard to reach places! While working to reduce manual handling and improve safe working practices.
Got a body of water you want to work on but have limited access to get to site? We have the solution.

Lymington Viaduct Christmas Blockade Wk39/40/41: A Successful Collaboration!
This festive season, Rebel Marine, in partnership with Octavius Infrastructure and the Network Rail Southern Renewals Enterprise, accomplished a significant milestone in the blockade works for Lymington Viaduct.

Constructed in 1884, this impressive 10-span structure plays a crucial role in carrying the railway over Lymington Harbour, providing vital access to the Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries.
The viaduct is supported by nine pairs of piers that uphold the main girders, with cross girders connecting them to support rail bearers, which in turn hold the track on specially designed hardwood wheel timbers.

Our team operated 24 hours a day for 15 days, completing 46 shifts. On-site, we utilized an array of equipment, including:
- 2 workboats
- 460m² of modular pontoons
- 2 crane pontoon barges with spud legs
- 1 spider crane
- 1 marine knuckle boom crane
- 2 tower lights

The initial task involved deploying modular pontoons and workboats to facilitate the installation of scaffolding beneath the viaduct. Once that was set up, our spider crane, mounted on the modular pontoons, was able to lift out the old rail bearers and install the newly fabricated replacements, along with various other materials and equipment essential for the project. The modular pontoons had been pre-loaded further down the river before the blockade and were then floated into position to serve as temporary storage.

Throughout the blockade, the crane and pontoons provided ongoing support, and once the work was completed, they were used to demobilize equipment and transport redundant materials back downstream for unloading. Thereafter, our focus shifted to the removal of scaffolding to prepare for the next phase of works.

We are especially grateful to our partners at Four Tees Engineers Ltd., Amber Scaffolding, EIS Services Group, and Sonic Rail Services Ltd. The dedication and teamwork across the entire supply chain were key contributors to the success of this project. Thank you to everyone involved!

Pontoon install in Dover today for access to replace netting, handrails and other fittings. Our pontoons were lifted over the wall into the water using our spider crane. Our modular pontoons were built between an existing pontoon and the quay wall to fit around all the piles running along the wall.

Phase 1 installed, our team will be back to move the pontoons next week for phase 2.

The pontoon spans the canal under the bridge with a walkway back along the canal to the compound for access. This allows access for the scaffold to be erected and access to the other side of the canal from the compound.

See our latest addition to the fleet, the Jekko spider crane in action for the first time mobilised on a modular pontoon! This gives an extremely versatile lifting solution on water. 🏗️

The Jekko SPX532 is the largest mini crane in its category able to pass through a single
door, it offers substantial lifting capacity in relation to its weight, dimensions.

Adding to our extensive range of specialist equipment and plant. Complementing our floating marine plant and cranes, this latest addition will offer more capability in harder to reach areas where a crane would normally be required to lift a marine crane onto the pontoon. Our new spider crane can launch the pontoons then track itself onto the deck to be set up. It can then lift the spud legs and deck equipment on board for the works.

Important features include the 1 tonne hydraulic flyjib, the maximum height of
which, at 17.3 metres, can be compared to that of a higher category of crane. This spider crane can be put on a trailer and towed by a 4x4.
Self levelling outriggers.
Virtual wall/ Working range limitation.
4 independent ‘J’ level stability areas
Self diagnostic error system
Pick and carry duties
EN13000 Certification

Pontoon install this week we completed on the Basingstoke Canal. The pontoon spans the canal under the bridge with a walkway back along the canal to the compound for access. This allows access for the scaffold to be erected and access to the other side of the canal from the compound.

Our crane trailer was utilised to unload the pontoons onto our Tracked Carrier which then carried them to the top of the steep embankment. From here the pontoons could be launched into the canal.

Before Christmas we mobilised our spider crane onto one of our modular pontoons. Our team then manoeuvred the pontoon with crane and steelwork under the bridge on a falling tide with just inches to spare on either side, using our workboats to push/pull.

Our spider crane then lifted the spud legs upright and into the holders, connecting up the winches ready to deploy.
Our solar LED lighting tower providing great deck lighting for the pontoon too.

This setup has been used to lift steelwork and materials on and off the bridge over Christmas and will continue into the New Year.

Job completed last week in Portsmouth, one of our workboats and pontoons assisted in installing scaffold ready for Christmas works on the structure.

Our aluminium spud legs were used to hold the pontoon in position under the bridge. Due to very limited access through an underpass with pedestrian bollards either end our Tracked Carrier was used to carry the pontoons and scaffold materials under the motorway to the site.

That’s a wrap for our team working on the Ryde Pier project for 2024. All pontoons and boats brought safely back to our yard today for the Christmas period. The access pontoon has been secured with extra lines holding it away from the structure too.

Our team will be back on the 2nd January with the rest of the supply chain to continue on with the programme🚂

Our team working on Lymington Viaduct are now gearing up for a very busy Christmas Blockade with most of our Ryde Pier team joining them🎄
