We’ve had many thoughtful surprise gifts from our guests over the years, but how lovely is this! Our guest’s business is flooring and she left a rug for us to protect the floor in the kitchen area! She’d studied the photos before her stay and picked the perfect colours for that hut, what a lovely surprise when we went in! Thank you Kate so much, what a lovely gesture, it’s gorgeous!

🦩🐸. I bought some fancy solar lights to light the paths as it’s pitch black here atm. Some of them glow multicoloured, not sure I like the colours but will play around with them to get the ambience just right for evening chilling outside! The stars are amazing tonight, and also thinking perhaps the lights will interfere with star gazing … guest safety or unobscured night skies??!!! 💫

We have a deep freeze full of delicious meals for our guests this winter. We can help out with breakfast, fresh milk, dog food, drinks also should anyone need anything (we had some stranded folk stay last night when the ferry broke down).

All our accommodation is stocked with tea, coffee, shower gel, towels so you'll have the basics for a comfortable night (you might even have time for a hot tub and a sauna ... stranded with benefits!)

We have now changed our minimum stay length to 1 night for the winter months. We hope no-one gets stranded again, but we're here if you need somewhere cosy to stay (and a morning ice barrel!!!) Dogs welcome!

3/3 reel! The cottage! We now have two luxury huts to go with our wee cottage. All have wood fired hot tubs, the cottage has a sauna, an ice barrel is available for all to dip in (sitting at a balmy 3 degrees, not for the feithearted), we have 2 pizza ovens and all the ingredients to make your own pizzas and we stock The Island Bakehouse pies.

We are here to help you make the most of your island visit, we can help with all aspects of your planning so please get in touch.

Living here we know it's almost busier in winter for us as we coorie in and make our own entertainment, we have singing, yoga, badmington, curry nights, quizes, beach parties, hall events, pub events, music, plays. You're welcome to join in or just come and enjoy the wilderness, the quiet, the books, the walks, the fires.

We're excited to let you know (we've finally finished building!!!) that we have two new self catering accommodation huts ready for rent on the Isle of Jura. Both huts are the same footprint and are designed as single, open plan living spaces; each with a well equipped kitchen, separate shower room and loo, and a log burning stove for heat.

A double bed can be made in the living space, or for those happy to climb a sturdy library ladder, there is a comfortable double mattress made up on the mezzanine above.

The Black Hut has a wood fired hot tub and one is on the way for The Rusty Hut, in the meantime we can move the tub between huts at the moment, so everyone booking should get to use the tub during their stay.

All accommodation is dog friendly, but dogs must be kept on leads around the area. The site is growing back so bear with us, 6 years of building has taken its toll, but we've planted 200 trees and plants and we hope it won't be long until the area recovers.
