Nortrade Foods are a well-established, family run business with three depots across the UK. We are looking for an experienced credit controller to join our growing seafood company at our head office based in Hawkhurst, Kent.

This role will particularly suit you if you have a background within an SME environment covering all aspects of credit control and sales administration and are good at work within a team.

Job Description

Managing payment terms and receipts for UK customers and high value invoices in a time sensitive environment. This role will require you to be an excellent communicator with first class internal / external relationship management skills to maintain positive cashflow, mitigate risk and ensure financial queries or potential payment delays are managed and resolved in the shortest possible timeframe.

Responsibilities

Responsible for reviewing the Sales Ledger daily, ensuring that outstanding / unpaid invoices are paid in a timely fashion. This will involve taking the necessary actions by phone and email to maintain positive cash flow via professional client and team communications.

Dealing with account queries and resolving them in a timely manner

Account / statement reconciliation

Setting up new accounts, carrying out credit checks, monitoring reports to ensure credit limits are still viable and supported.

Liaising with credit insurance provider to ensure limits are accurate and in place.

Supporting the sales department with administrative duties.

Additional ad hoc duties within the Finance Department

We are looking for a Sales administrator to join our sales team and help us achieve our goals. You will serve as a point of contact for customers with queries about products, orders and deliveries and provide support for sales representatives.
Our ideal candidate is goal-oriented and has a deep knowledge of customer service best practices. If you have exceptional organisational skills and draw energy from being part of a team, we would like to meet you.

Garlic Prawns with Chili and Herbs

I am so happy to be cooking for friends again. This is the perfect starter as it is all made ahead, which gives me maximum time chatting and minimum time in the kitchen. It always goes down a storm and smells utterly incredible, as garlic, butter and seafood always does!

The gorgeous prawns are from Nortrade. Kent and Sussex locals, this is my address book secret and the best place to source frozen fish. Nortrade used to only supply to restaurants and wholesale, but since lockdown, they have made their fabulous fish available to the public - you just need to phone in advance and pay before you collect. I have been using them loads in the last year. We love fish, and it means we always have a good supply in the freezer, and fish defrosts easily and quickly.

Serves 4
12-16 raw tail prawns (defrosted)
60g butter- softened
1 large crushed clove of garlic
1-2 tsp Extra virgin olive oil
Half a bunch of parsley - finely chopped
Teaspoon of chilli flakes or crushed chillis
Zest of a lemon (fine zest as opposed to strips)
Tablespoon of breadcrumbs

Mix the butter with all the ingredients except the prawns and season well. Chill. This can be done a day in advance if needed. Pop the prawns in a gratin dish* and put small slices of the flavoured butter over the prawns. Put on baking sheets. These can now sit in the fridge until you are ready to cook.

Preheat the oven to 200C. Put the dishes in the hot oven for 8 mins, until the prawns are cooked, the breadcrumbs golden and your kitchen smells like heaven. Serve immediately with crusty bread and lemon wedges.

You can always do this one big oven dish too! Or do as a main course with lots more prawns. Sometimes I add scallops too!
Nortrade gifted me the prawns, but I have been buying them for ages!
