Tilt test...yep still tilts although its only one way as usual
Wiper motor test
Short video of the wiper motor moving by use molegrips
Test panels
Wired in a new plug socket and also some LEDs on the small panel, this does need a bit more work on the holes to make them more rectangular, also rewired the panel switches so they independant of each other. Short video of the lights working on the small panel by use of momentary switches. This area still needs tidying up such has the vinyl cutting straight and also resticking back down in places.
Hi all. This is a upto date video taken today to show what it looks like now compared to the last video i put on showing it in 2008.
This is a video of the inside of the APT 2 months after i started. At this time the train still had quite a bit of stuff lying around such was the mess it was in and the amount of time it had taken upto this point. Has can be seen none of the display areas are in place and items and rubbish are all over the guards compartments in the TBF.
The original display boards are still in the buffet car, no displays are in the bar area and the 1st class still had it's original, faded well worn seat covers in place. The whole train stank of damp and mould which still does today but not as bad. There is also a drinks trolley which some numpty threw in the skip at this time i had very little say what went on, it was only after about 12 months that i got more of a say until i am where i am today with control of what goes on...with in reason lol.
A video taken 2 months after i started showing the APT all through. Notice how none of the display areas are there and the amount of stuff still lying around in the TBF's guard area and a drinks trolley sitting around. The display area in the buffet car is in place but nothing on it, this is where it originally was, but i moved it about 2 years later so i could put that coach back to how it should be. At this stage of me starting i really didn't have say on what went on and how the APT should be, that was down to another person who was in charge of the volunteers at that stage. Changes came pretty quick once i managed to work things out, starting with it's repaint which was in real desperate need, that came in 2009...only 7 years after it's last one that's the bug bear we have with it being exposed to the elements all the time and will always be the case.
This is a video i took about 2 months after starting. A lot of tidying up had already been done by this point but certain things were still lying around. Notice how none of the display areas are in place where they are now and the TBF's guards van areas are still visible and messy...also a drinks trolley is there, some numpty threw it in the skip way back, before the time i had a proper say on how the APT should be looked after and what can be done.
The Heritage Centre had a toy & train fair yesterday and met 2 of the followers of the page Malcolm ( sorry forgot your last name lol ) Alan Tolley and Steven Hill of Bees Hill-Models. Now Steven bought along his excellent version of the APT in N gauge which comes as a kit. This was a lovely looking model and very detailed for it's size, it had a run out in the APT on a panel from the pantograph well as the table just wasn't wide enough for the track, but it performed brilliantly. It came with two different finishes, one spray painted the other with Adam Warrs Electra graphics. So anyone interested in N gauge modern image and of the APT pop over to Stevens website and take a look.
