The interconnecting door between the rooms is actually a lockable cupboard from one side, so you can either enjoy having the rooms open (perfect for kids), or have them completely separate.

Places to eat: Kinori Kitchen
Kinori Kitchen is a pop-up Japanese restaurant in Chard - a 20 minute drive from Bridge House. Chef and owner, Hideki Koike, has worked in many award winning restaurants.
He opens Kinori Kitchen every Friday and Saturday evening, offering different styles of Japanese cuisine on different days, with a bring your own booze policy! On the evening, you can watch Hideki cook behind the open chef’s counter, before he serves the same delicious dishes to each guest (veg options available). All guests arrive at 6:30, and the food is served shortly afterwards.
It has an authentic, intimate, and family atmosphere, and Hideki will often come around chatting to everyone.
As he only opens a few days a week, spaces fill out quickly, so make sure you book in advance. Check out his website for a list of his event dates and which style of food will be served on which day!
When you arrive at the address, you won’t believe this little slice of authentic Japanese heaven exists behind one of the many doors… wait to see for yourself!
Maddy preparing the welcome orange drizzle cakes…
We always leave a homemade cake for our guests, something sweet to nibble on after dinner, or something for the kids to demolish in 2 seconds flat (if ours are anything to go by)! It is absolutely delicious and so far we’ve had no complaints…🧁
Getting the garden ready the the firsts guests of the season. Thank god for Rob 😍
Things to do in Somerset: Ham Hill Country Park
We're lucky to be a 10 minute drive from Ham Hill, a beautiful area of land centred around an Iron Age hillfort. It has some lovely scenic dog walks, and a perfect large open space for the kids to run around and play. There's normally an ice cream van in the summer! The pub at the top (The Prince of Wales) offers some good food with some even better views across the Somerset landscape.
Things to do in Somerset: Cheddar Gorge
Cheddar Gorge is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and it's easy to see why. Nestled in the Mendip hills, it provides some breathtaking scenery, whether you're looking out at the panoramic views of Somerset from the top, or basking in the sheer magnitude of the limestone cliffs from the bottom.
There are some excellent walks around here, so make sure to bring your dog! 🐶
See https://www.cheddargorge.co.uk/ for more information.

Looking for places to visit when staying at Bridge House Somerset? Try Glastonbury Tor...
If you're feeling particularly adventurous, why not go for sunrise? Only a 30 minute drive from the house, and a 15 minute walk to the top, it provides some stunning panoramic views across Somerset. Take in some true British countryside, and of course your four-legged furry companions are welcome.
There is some interesting history surrounding Glastonbury Tor. The lonely tower was built to replace the 14th Century Church of St. Michael, which was destroyed by an earthquake. Additionally, during the English reformation, the last Abbot of Glastonbury Abbey, Richard Whiting, was hung, drawn and quartered here along with two of his monks in 1539.
The nearest parking is at Draper and Co on Chilkwell Street, a 2 minute walk from the bottom, and the walk to the top is easy and gradual, with proper concrete paths and a bench at the halfway point. There are some stunning walks around the area too, so be sure to bring your dog!
Enjoy this short video, captured by Maddy, on a beautiful January sunrise.

A tiny fly-through of the snooker room... who's ready for a tournament?
Sunrise in Somerset...
Reminiscing about those frosty sunrises. On the last cold day we had last week, we got up before sunrise to catch the sun coming up over the early morning frost. It was an absolute delight to witness such a spectacular sunrise. We found the most glorious vantage point, with views across to Dorset! ❤️
The bedrooms at Bridge House are full of original Georgian features with a modern luxury twist... and soft cotton DUSK sheets giving you a dreamless sleep... only the occasional sound of our local night Owl and the star filled skies to join you in the peaceful Somerset countryside. Thank you to @ldwmedia for the fantastic video. More to follow…
