Planning a trip to St Fillans, you can take advantage of the weekly fruit and veg boxes at the Handy Shop in Comrie. We love them and enjoy the changes. It inspires us to be creative with our menu for the week.

Congratulations to our lovely local butcher in Comrie. We can testify to the fact that their Lorne sausage is amazing. If you are a lover of Scottish square sausage this is one to relish. Personally it has to be a good roll ( bun if you are from Aberdeenshire) plenty of butter, Lurpak for me, the honorable square sausage or slicey (think this is Aberdeen as well) and brown sauce. What is your perfect square sausage on a roll blend?

Its nearly that time of year again when we all buy Haggis. We enjoy haggis from our local butcher in Comrie who make their own and enjoy it all year round. We also enjoy MacSweens which is easily bought throughout the UK in supermarkets.

Many who have not had the pleasure of Haggis are put off by horrible tales of all sort of bits going into them, however I know that all ingredients are perfectly safe and taste delicious. If you are still not convinced then try MacSweens vegetarian one which has an excellent flavour. We think that Haggis is perfect with 'Tatties and Neeps' otherwise mashed potato and mashed Turnip or Swede as we know it in Scotland. If there are such a thing as leftovers then you can make it into a lovely Cottage Pie the next day. How do you like your Haggis?
