Love cars? Lots to do this weekend in Perth
Perth Classic Car Weekend - This weekend will be the Classic Car Weekend in Perth City. There are two days of events on Saturday 1 June and Sunday 2 June 2024 from 10.00am until 3.00pm. The primary event will take place on Saturday, June 1st, and will feature an exhibition of vintage cars along Tay Street in Perth. A vibrant Mela market will take place on King Edward Street and a tasty barbeque will be on offer at St Matthew’s Church, Tay Street from 10 am until 3pm.
On both Saturday, June 1st, and Sunday, June 2nd, attendees will have the opportunity to explore Morris Leslie's personal collection of classic cars by jumping onboard a vintage bus at Mill Street to take you to Perth Airport, where the collection is stored.
Entrance to the collection will be a donation to TASH for Ukraine of £10.00 per adult (16+), £5.00 per child (5-15 years) or family entry of £25.00 (2 adults, up to 3 children). Under 5s are free.
Due to the specific layout and storage arrangements, we regret that wheelchair users and those with pushchairs will not be able to view the collection.
With such a diverse range of cars being displayed on Tay Street, some changes to normal arrangements should be expected to keep disruption to a minimum.
Road Closures - Tay Street will be closed from the junction at Smeaton’s Bridge, Tay Street to the junction at Queens Bridge. Alternative traffic management have been put in place to divert people around the city.
Public Transport and Car Parking - Free bus travel will return to Perth and Kinross for the first Saturday of every month, starting on June 1st, just in time for the Classic Car weekend.
People can take advantage of the free bus travel offer for journeys made wholly in Perth and Kinross provided by local bus operators Stagecoach East Scotland, Docherty’s Midland Coaches, Elizabeth Yule, Sweeney’s Garage and Glenfarg Community Transport Group.
Passengers who have a free U22, 60+ or disabled concessionary bus pass should use their bus pass as normal to travel.
There may be delays to some bus services as due to the day's events - please follow live timetables or follow Stagecoach East Scotland on twitter for latest information.
For spectators and visitors coming into Perth City Centre from further afield, Stagecoach Service 7B operates from the Broxden Park & Ride facility to South Street, a very short walk to the centre of the city.
