Wrap up and enjoy some fresh air on a walk through the estate.

With several waymarked routes to choose from, get outside in nature and enjoy a winter walk with your loved ones before warming up with a hot chocolate or cup of tea and tasty slice of cake at the Squire's Pantry, open 10am - 3:30pm daily.

If you are planning to visit our wonderful seals please do read this message from the Friends of Horsey Seals. Thank you πŸ™ 🐚

In response to recent articles on the internet and reports in local and national press, FoHS wants to address a common misunderstanding about seals. All too often we see jounalists and visitors displaying photos with a caption saying the seal is waving at us. This is simply not true, Here is a photo by one of our favorite photographers, Liz Croxson, showing a seal that appears to be waving and taken with a long lens from more that 100 metres away. If you look closely there is another seal approaching the so called waving seal. What is really going on here is the raised flipper is seal language for you are too close, go away. So when a person or a dog gets too close they will do exactly the same thing. Pups will as well. Remember that seals don't wave but they will raise their flipper if they feel threatened. So please give them their space and stay off the beach until the breeding season is over at the end of January

Stunning visibility in the sea off Sheringham today. The sunshine certainly helps too. Who’d have thought that the North Sea could look like this?! I had a 2hr snorkel on my own and was in heaven, pics of some of the critters to follow.

In North Norfolk this week? (Lucky you!)
Here are 10 things you could do to Discover, Support & Enjoy North Norfolk a little more this Summer:
1. Fly a kite. Wholesome fun straight out of Mary Poppins... We actually managed this successfully for the first time EVER this August - at Manor Farm Campsite in East Runton - and for once, no one had a tantrum because all the strings got tangled. (FREE once you have a kite.)
2. Go rockpooling. You don't really need any special equipment to do this, though a bucket or container is useful to store any fascinating 'finds'. East Runton and West Runton have great rock pools when the tide is out. (FREE - Β£)
3. Visit / see a Norfolk Castle. West Norfolk has Castle Acre and Castle Rising... and if you fancy getting urban, there's also Norwich Castle. (Free - ££ depending on whether you go in or enjoy from the outside.)
4. Write a poem inspired by Norfolk. Don't knock it until you've tried it - you might be a poet and you didn't know it. (Free.)
5. Take a boat trip. There are a few places along the coast that you can take a boat trip. Ones that spring to mind are Beans Boat Trips or Temple Seal Trips at Blakeney Point. Booking required. (££)
6. Write your name in the sand on a Norfolk beach. It's obligatory really. Date it and decorate it with stones and shells. Take a picture to print out and you've got some lovely new wall art to frame and smile fondly upon when you think of your visit. (FREE - until you do the printing and framing bit.)
7. Ride a train. We love spotting the steam trains at Weybourne Station and you can ride from Sheringham to Holt on this Poppy Line (North Norfolk Railway). But there's also the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway... or just leave the car for once and take a train for the heck of it. (££)
8. Drink a locally produced tipple. We discuss Norfolk summer drinking in Episode 9 of our Norfolk & Good podcast - have a listen for some thirst-quenching ideas. (£-££)
9. Send a Norfolk souvenir to someone. Spread the Norfolk love and make someone's day. And it HAS to be Norfolk-y! (£-££)
10. Have a picnic in a Norfolk park or beauty spot. Sheringham Park or Holt Country Park are favourites of ours, and Holkham is lovely. To be honest, we're spoilt for choice! Include lots of locally-made produce for a truly Norfolk experience. (££)
