Spring has sprung in Cromer with some beautiful weather this last week. The sunken gardens by the coast are looking well tended and the last two photos are in the garden at the cottage. Spring colour and our fig tree is simply loaded with figs that will mature in late summer!

What a gorgeous morning this was. If you're an early riser you can get to see beautiful views like this when staying with us, but if not, Cromer has some cracking sunsets too!

The fireworks are always a really popular event. Great for guests at the cottage who can just walk a short distance to enjoy them. 😊

We learned about George Skipper today, an architect responsible for designing a large number of Cromer buildings, as it became a tourist hot spot from Victorian times into the twentieth century. We were so pleased to find that Rosie, his granddaughter was on the tour with us. Paul was really informative and made the walking tour so interesting. He does tours in Norwich and other places too. An excellent way to spend a few hours whilst on holiday. 👍🏻

We’ve always known that Cromer is the place to be….. 😁

Limited summer availability left but there’s two weekends in June, a week in July and a week in August still to be had. 😉

With a mix of hot new independent businesses opening up in the seaside town, Cromer is becoming quite the spot to be.

Half term, a sunny day and many families have come to the coast to enjoy beautiful Cromer.

I have only recently opened the calendar back up for the cottage so there is lots of availability for 2023.

I have dropped off the radar since last year as family crisis overtook everything else.

Sadly we lost two out of three remaining parents in 2022.

My mother in law had a fall, broke her hip, then had a stroke. Two months in hospital and she died peacefully age 97.

My father had a heart attack in February and later in the summer his health and heart started to decline. September saw him in hospital, where he went in and out from until his death at the end of November, age 96.

Whilst in hospital he and my mum celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. 💗

Now just left with mum, widowed at age 96 and needing a lot of support.

Nothing in life had prepared me for the time and emotional energy needed to care for elderly parents, so ultimately I had to put my business on hold to devote my time to them. At least I can look back and know I couldn’t have done anymore.

Anyway that’s my story and why I went quiet, but hoping that 2023 will see my guests, past and future come to enjoy our lovely cottage, nestled in the heart of Cromer just a short walk from the seafront and all the town has to offer.

Remember Banksy’s ‘spraycation’? He went on a trip round Norfolk and left a piece of his artwork behind in Cromer.
Many months on, it was still there, so do get along for a beach walk and see it for yourself. 😁 It’s a lovely walk along the beach then up the cliff to Cliff Drive and back into town, or vice versa!

A very quiet night in Cromer, walking along the seafront past the pier. If you want to enjoy this beautiful seaside town without all the tourists, bows the time to come. No trouble getting a table at the local cafes and restaurants. Just don’t tell everyone…. 😉

An evening spent at Luminate in Sandringham. This amazing music and light extravaganza is on until 19th December. The cottage has one weekend left, 3 nights from Friday 3rd December. If you fancy a weekend away by the sea and seeing this amazing light show, now’s your chance! Sandringham is an hours drive and well worth it. Take a walk round the park in the morning, stop for afternoon tea in the afternoon and take in the show, plus vintage fairground and lots of yummy food like mulled wine, toasted marshmallows and churros in the evening.

Bann Thai restaurant, based in Cromer in Norfolk, has won The Good Food Award for a fourth time.

Our latest favourite place to stop for tea and cake. Alternatively try a cocktail. This lovely place on Church Street in Cromer is open all day and evening so whatever your mood and whatever you fancy, they can cater for it. They’ve opened a new place in Sheringham too. Great place to hang out, meet friends and just chill.

Just taken ‘delivery’ of this amazing bespoke map of Cromer, showing the cottage in relation to the town, by . It took me far too long to get my act together in drawing the basic map and telling Carl what I wanted on it, but once that was done, the communication between us flowed and this lovely map resulted. I’m so pleased. A unique reminder that my guests will be able to enjoy too. 😍

Where did the summer go? 🤔Well I know that I did at least manage to get my parents away for another Norfolk holiday. Every year they get a little more frail and say this year will be the last. Age 94 and 95 they’re hanging in there! 😆 Clearly you’re never too old for an ice cream so we enjoyed some from Ronaldos while we basked in some sunshine along the pier and esplanade. So many flavours to choose from. 😍

It’s official - Banksy posted on his Instagram account this video, showing the artwork he created recently round Norfolk and Suffolk. Cromer got the crabs of course. 🦀🦀🦀 😁

Looking forward to seeing them in reality but I think it’ll be a bit busy for a while!

Whether it’s sitting outside, takeaways or eating in once allowed to open, Henry’s is one of our favourite cafes. So much delicious food and a lovely relaxed atmosphere inside.
