Meet the Team!

Henry Pemberton (Pilot)

Born in the Isle of Man, dog walker, mountain leader, previous teacher and advocate for getting everyone into the outdoors. Cycled 25,000km from UK to Bangkok on a budget of £1.50 a day in 2015 and walked the 3000km length of New Zealand in 2017. Psyched for this adventure!

Lulu Chapman (Stoker)

Veterinary surgeon from Jersey, Lulu has always preferred to be outdoors swimming, sailing, climbing running and cycling accompanied by Yeti the dog. When they met, Henry mentioned a joke dream to get a tandem and cycle across Europe, she thought he was being serious so here we are!

Who are we raising funds for?

We are raising funds for Adaptive Riders Collective CIC which is a community interest company setup to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to experience the benefits and freedom of nature through off-road adaptive cycling. ARC's mission is to provide services, create an inclusive collective of adaptive & non-disabled riders, and offer a space where riders of all abilities can come together and enjoy all that cycling and being out amongst nature has to offer.

Fingers crossed we can raise enough money to fund a new handcycle and a box trailer for ARC!

What bike are we using and what is our message?

We found a discarded vintage 1990s tandem at The Bike Station Edinburgh and had it rebuilt by the amazing team at The Bike Station - Perth. We hope to ignite a passion for the outdoors, recycling, healthy active lifestyles, perseverance and feel good adventures!

Our expedition has a strong eco friendly accessible message that aims to show that old equipment can be reused, recycled and still have a lot of life still left in it!

- Start Location - Nordkapp, Norway
- Finish Location - Tarifa, Spain
- Distance: 6500km in 60 Days (110km average per day)
- Over 40,000m Elevation Gain equivalent of climbing Mount Everest 4.5 times
- Self Supported
(Doggo not included)
