The weather has improved enough to let us get some new windows fitted at the Sugar Pine Lodge, one was desperately needing replaced but all good and new. Next year we will get the rest done

Out for a romantic meal for valentines at our local hotel the Anchor. Excellent food as always very well presented and friendly staff definitely worth a visit just for the mussels.
Surf and Turf was the best we've had in years

Well as the summer season comes to an end and the weather has definitely changed we have closed Sugar Pine Lodge for the winter
We had some great visitors new and old from as far afield as Germany and Mexico.
We finally did a tour of our local dear park getting up close to some impressive deer so if you haven't already done the tour it's definitely a must
Cheryl and I look forward to next year and hope it's as good as this one.

Ernespie Farm
A nice local place to visit with children and friends. Friendly staff good food, good well stocked shop for all your plant, toys and household ornaments, plenty for the children to see and do.

A walk to the pub directly from the lodge around the forest to justify a lunch out. Great walk but can be muddy in places however the end is worth it

One of our local pubs for great food. The Steamboat Inn just a short drive around the coast with panoramic views across to England. New menu for 2023 and becoming very popular from early spring best to book

When your leaving guests tell you there's a problem with the shower and you're on holiday you just have to get on with it
Early flight home, click and collect new shower, 2 hour drive and have new shower fitted by 10pm all to make your next guests stay enjoyable and relaxing. Who couldn't love a view like this

Just one of the local agricultural shows we have during the summer months this one being the biggest at Dumfries. A full day out for all the family

Another sunny day here with the grass well on its way. I thought I'd post a before and after to give you all the scale of work we have done in the garden as well as a now rare photo of a cold winter scene from the deck many years ago. You can see we cleared a lot back mostly Bamboo from my father's love of all things green

Bit more landscaping done with the new grass coming through, sunny day for it but cold wind from the north
