Kylah is our Office Manager, who joined us just over 3 years ago. Since then she has progressed through the business, and is instrumental to the daily running of the business. We're very proud of her achievements and happy that she has been recognised by such an acclaimed awards as the Thistle Awards. We're keeping our fingers crossed for the finals! 🎉🎉🏆

*RACE DAY Sunday 14th July 2024 : IMPORTANT SPECTATOR INFORMATION**

It will be an EPIC DAY, with so much going on!
A Packed Starting Grid of Dream Machines all ready to GO-GO-GO!!!!!

Here are a few things to consider as a spectator:

TIMINGS:
- Top Of Kingstreet and car park closed from 6am to 6pm EST
- Set up from 6am to 12 noon
- Drivers brief 12 noon
- Soapbox Racing: GO-GO-GO from 13:00
- Awards Ceremony (at the start ramp) at 16:30
- The Lucky Numbers Draw from the programmes will take place at the Awards Ceremony at 16:30

COST:
- This is a free-to-spectate event.
Any links to tickets etc is spam
- ⁠you can help support the event running costs by purchasing a programme and merchandise or by popping a donation in our donation buckets

PARKING:
- We have parking available at Wallets Mart. Approx. 450m (5-minute Walk) from the race track!
- What3Words: shred.stickler.trappings

During Racing:
- PLEASE BE SAFE!
- Some of the more 'streamlined' Carts will be travelling down the track at speed.
- The Marshalls and Crowd barriers are there for a purpose.

Our official programme:
- Will be on sale for just £2 (including a free pen). In there you will find pages on all you need to know about the event, including The Starting line up (via our QR code); A map of the track. Plus lots more.
- This is a great way to help support the event and will help us fund the running of Castle Douglas Soap Box Derby.
- ⁠Programmes for sale at a stall at the bottom of the track on King St from 11:00-13:00 and they are available all day at our Castle Douglas Soap Box Derby stall at the top park

Our Grand Lucky Numbers Draw:
- Every programme has its own individual number
- Lucky Numbers will be drawn at 16:30 at the Awards Ceremony
- Lots of prizes to be won! - Cash, 1 week stay in a holiday cottage, Hampers, to name a few.

Payments
- We have Contactless Payment facilities for purchasing programmes and merchandise
- Cash works also, if you still carry it!
- Some of our smaller stalls are Cash Only, so if you could bring a few pennies, that would be amazing!

Other Entertainment:
- There will be the awesome Road Runner at the top park at 12:00. Great fun for kids and the adults too! Let's see you all dancing!
- ⁠Double Trouble (clowns)
- ⁠Charlie Chaplin
- ⁠Stalls selling lots of goodies at Market Hill Car Park
- ⁠come and see us at the Soap Box stall at the top park - we have lots of awesome merchandise for sale this year and also lots of chances to win cash and prizes in our tombola and lucky dip balls. Plus more 😍

Hungry:
- We have lots of individual food vendors
- ⁠Fish & Chips, Burgers, Macaroni, milkshakes
- Available at the top park
- Some of our local food/drink providers on King St will also be open to keep you fed and hydrated

Event Volunteers Team:
- We have around 25 Volunteers, who will be helping to deliver a safe and successful day!
- Please be respectful & kind!
- Safety is our NO.1 Priority for everyone!

Please note The Beagle Country Pub will be showing the Euros this week. Therefore the Family quiz will be on Thursday 11th this week only!
Highly recommended to book a table for food - Saturday's England match was busy!
The pub is working to create extra viewing areas and there will be plenty of space for drinking and watching.

Looking for a Summer Job? We're looking for cleaners and pot washers. Excellent rates of pay, suitable for anyone 14 plus. No need for pot wash experience, some cleaning experience helps (even if it's just making sure your own house is spotless!).

Great if you're after a few days a week - cleaning on Friday, Saturday and Mondays are our main days.

It was great to support Cycletech Dumfries inaugural Big Onion Gravel ride yesterday. 70km or 100km of the region's best gravel routes - coming straight through Barend, with 2 free feed stations and all for just a tenner!

If you're into cycling this event is an absolute must, we loved riding it yesterday. Definitely one for next year's calendar!

Free food and drink provided by The Beagle Country Pub for the first feed station too :)

Many lodges and cabins have improved their outdoor seating recently. Check out lodge 69 ,70, 21 and 60 for some great outdoor spaces recently done up.
(Every lodge has a balcony or verandah for your private use and they are all fab)
