Highlights of 2024 : A perfect day. Although it was early October, we were blessed with a beautiful autumn day. The temperature was perfect for walking so we made our way up to "The Hidden Glen" in Glencoe. Most refer to this place as the "Lost *Valley*" but I've always thought of this as a very anglicised name.
This is the view on our ascent. 😍

(The Gaelic name is "Coire Gabhail" in case you were wondering 😊)

Highlights of 2024 : Found this Emperor Moth resting on a wall of a hotel on Skye. Very uncommon to see in Scotland and with a wingspan up to 10cm, it's one of Scotland's largest insects. ❤️

Highlights of 2024: I did my first tour of England in September. 2 whole weeks of driving from place to place, starting at Dover and finishing at the Lake District. Along the way I visited the Museum of the History of Science in Oxford. On display is a blackboard that Einstein used when he gave 3 lectures at the University in 1931.
This particular blackboard was used in his 2nd lecture and on it is an equation relating to relativity and the expansion of the universe. 🤯

Highlights of 2024 : I had visited Clava Cairns countless times since first starting as a tour guide in 2009. Maybe it was the angle of the sun on this particular day at the time I was there casting shadows, but it was the first time I had noticed these carvings in one of the stones. I once read that the stones contained the memories of the folk that erected them. Maybe this story was only to be told on certain days of the year.
