Our Modern 80/- is our most malt forward beer using a combination of crystal and cara aromatic malts for a deep flavour balanced by traditional Bramling Cross hops.

Many of our Portobello Tap and Oldeastwaytap regulars will be aware of the awesome Good Time Running Club. Come rain or shine they get out there and pound the streets, creating a welcoming community for runners, regardless of experience. 🏃‍♀️🏃

On Saturday 27th July they will once again be doing their epic “Beach to Brewery” run. The route starts at Portobello prom with some morning yoga to limber up then a 12k run ending at Cross Borders Brewery.

🌮 We wanted to do something a bit special for the occasion so we’ve invited the outstanding Mexican pop-up, El Dorado Taqueria to come and serve some delicious tacos and of course there’ll be a great selection of cold beers on tap. 🌮🍺

The brewery is open to all, not just the runners so come and soak up the atmosphere. We anticipate the runners will arrive between 2-3.30pm so we’ve suspended any table bookings before 4pm… We’re pretty sure they’ll need a seat when they arrive!

🏋️‍♀️ HEAVY - Our most malt forward beer using a combination of crystal and caramel malts for a deep flavour balanced by traditional Bramling Cross hops. 4.1% ABV

🍑 HAZY PALE - featuring a load of Azacca, Galaxy, and Mosaic hops plus some oats in the grist for a creamy full body packed full of peach, passionfruit and grapefruit. 4.5% ABV

🏆IPA - Our multi award winning IPA is a modern classic. Big on flavour with Simcoe, Amarillo, and Mosaic in the dry hop with a refreshingly classic hoppy bitterness. 6% ABV

Would you believe it, our wee brewery is 7 years old!
Thanks for all your continued support at our brewery taproom, we really appreciate it.

After 7 years of brewing and hosting, the place now needs a bit of TLC so we’re taking the decision to close down the brewery taproom for the winter months. This will allow us to carry out the essential maintenance needed whilst ensuring we keep the Braw beer you all know and love flowing!

We will be closing after this weekend and will re-open in April 2024 so if you’re in the area on Friday 4pm-10pm or Saturday 2pm-10pm do swing by for a farewell pint.

It’s not all bad news - you can keep enjoying our suds at our pubs and the gorgeous newly opened

INDIA PALE ALE Our final segment talking about our core beers. India Pale Ale was first brewed in 2019 and has since become a massive part of our core line-up. It’s gone on to receive multiple awards from the likes of SIBA and the Scottish Beer Awards. It’s packed full of Simcoe, Mosaic, and Amarillo for a classic american style IPA. It’s available all year round in keg, cask, and can. HEAVY Part three of our core range series is all about Heavy. Heavy is our sublime modern 80/- and is a beer we absolutely love. It highlights our love of malt forward beer. It’s modernised with our use of Belgian malts for a subtle raisin flavour to compliment the toffee flavour you’d expect from an 80/- Heavy is available all year round in keg, cask, and can and you can find out more about how to get some by emailing [email protected]

Wee Braw Our second core range series video is about our Wee Braw. We brewed this in early 2018 and it fast became one of our biggest sellers. We’ve been delighted with this 4% session IPA and that’s mostly because of our love of Mosaic hops. We make this beer all year round in keg, cask, and can.
