This newly renovated unique apartment is a perfect blend of art, design, comfort and understated luxury to make your stay in Dartmouth as enjoyable and memorable as possible. Forming the top floor of our much-loved Victorian villa and built on a sunny South facing the valley, the apartment is a few steps down from road level and accessed via a footbridge to your own dedicated entrance. Recently we

have added the garDEN studio, sleeps 2 and is situated at the side of the house above our award winning garden. Every bit as special as the apARTment just on a smaller scale. Entering the property through the fantastic front door with its vintage porthole and shiplights you'll find the light & airy kitchen/dining room on your right. With sparkling quartz work tops the kitchen is fully equipped with top quality appliances including Dishwasher, Fridge, Freezer, Neff Oven, Induction hob, Microwave & Nespresso Machine . Supplied with all cooking utensils, crockery, tea towels & washing up equipment you'll need for your stay. The Dining area with an original Ercol table & 4 chairs is large enough to relax in with 2 tub armchairs and ambient lighting for those special relaxing dinners. At the end of the hallway is the roomy lounge with wonderful views over Dartmouth looking across to the rolling hills opposite. With two large 3 seater sofas, you can sit back and unwind or snuggle up to watch a movie! Samsung Smart TV, Blu-ray/DVD player, and board games are provided. The first double bedroom has french doors opening out onto a balcony with the most spectacular panoramic views down to the River & Town. With a bistro table & chairs, this is such an incredible spot to have breakfast or sit and enjoy a glass of wine (or two!). The second bedroom is the same size & has a Combi TV/DVD & hillside views from the large velux window. The other side of the hallway is the bathroom, tiled in natural stone with large walk in shower with Hansgrohe fittings & full height towel radiator. Being Artist/Designers we have really tried to make this apartment a truly special place to stay with equal attention to both style and comfort. The interior has been strongly influenced by classic mid century design and Scandinavian style. Throughout the apartment you'll find a mix of nautical objects, quirky sculpture, vintage signs and original art of course, which we are both so passionate about. Our previous holiday properties were selected for Alistair Sawdays 'Special Escapes', featured in Coast magazine and rated as excellent on Trip advisor as a result of the many outstanding reviews and repeat visitors we received. With this wealth of experience we aim to maintain these high standards and hope guests will continue to enjoy their stay with us and have the most fabulous holiday!

Gorgeous sunny day here in Dartmouth. Perfect for a walk on the coast with great friend 🥰 This waterfall is at the far end of Slapton Beach, parking at Strete Gate and walking towards Blackpool Sands along the coast. I’ve been here 25 years and I’ve never quite walked this far along the beach and this is a lovely incentive to get to that point…. With a hot drink to finish….

The spectacular Salcombe Field of Light, has been donated to the extremely worthwhile charity, The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) by the world renowned artist Bruce Munro.

The Field of Light spans 35000 square metres of steep Devon hillside opposite the town of Salcombe, South Devon, on the edge of the estuary. Best viewed from viewing points along the Salcombe Harbour front..

Spotlight on Slapton Sands…

The picturesque coastal villages along Slapton Sands are perched between verdant rolling countryside and Start Bay. Lying equidistant between Salcombe and Dartmouth - Devon’s two most prestigious coastal yachting towns - making the area a world famous destination for sailing, water sports and walkers.

As well as being an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, because of the nature reserve at Slapton Ley, Slapton Sands is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest, home to a wealth of protected wildlife and birds. This unique, 3 mile stretch of shingle beach and surrounding countryside are a hugely protected part of the British coastline. Slapton Sands was also the scene of an ill-fated military exercise in 1944, Excercise Tiger. A Sherman tank recovered from where it sank during this action now stands in Torcross as a memorial to those who were lost.

Torcross, with its unrivalled and uninterrupted panoramic views is a bustling coastal village with a cafe, seafront pub and well stocked farm shop. Sailing, surfing and kayaking are all popular from this beach. There is a thriving local community and a handy main bus route through the village running between Dartmouth and Kingsbridge and ample parking for its residents and visitors.

The quaint village of Slapton is located about half a mile inland with narrow winding lanes, local fruit and vegetables for sale by the side of the road, and some quintessentially English cottage gardens to admire. Surrounded by farmland and close to the freshwater lagoon. Nestled in the shadows of a 14th Century tower, in the heart of Slapton village, you will find the popular Tower Inn pub, another popular pub situated close by is The Queen’s Arms.
