A great way to see Dartmouth and Kingswear is from the river and these little boats are available to hire from the Embankment. We went up river to the castle and had a Birds Eye view of all the amazing river homes and then down to Dittisham. We were fortunate to have wonderful weather so had a boat picnic, moored up and crabbed off the pontoon and sampled the local beers at The Ferry Boat Inn. The Anchorstone Cafe is also a fantastic lunch spot with one of the best views over the Dart. Highly recommended little half day activity.

is located just off fosse street and offers classic basket food ( think scampi/sausage/wings and chips) pizzas) cocktails, a great aperol spritz and good wine/champagne and beer selection. It opens every day except Sunday from 5pm and hosts DJ nights, cocktail events and other special events through the season. It’s a firm favourite amongst the locals and visitors alike and it’s literally at the bottom of Cox’s Steps for guests of so it makes it your local 🍻🥂🍾

A soggy Sunday in July! But that doesnt stop us getting out and about for a walk, breathe in some sea air, sip a local coffee and unplug!

One of the things I love to do is the coastal walk up to the castle where a tiny little tea room nestles at the head of the river. The views are spectacular , the teas are hot and the scones and clotted cream are justified after the hill walk to get there. Definitely add this to your list of things to do when you next visit Dartmouth
