Good morning - the Grane Road leading to Elton Road at Belthorn is closed in its entirety this after a serious crash near the Grey Mare Inn.

Police say the road is very dangerous due to the weather conditions.

The closure is causing severe delays in the area.

Police are unaware when the roads will be back open.

A spokesperson for Rossendale Police said: "Good Morning, we are currently dealing with a road traffic collision by the Grey Mare Inn on Elton Road, Belthorn.

"The road is very dangerous due to the weather conditions and the decision has been made to close Grane Road and Elton road in its entirety.

"At this time we cannot say how long the road will be closed for.

"We will update once we can.

"Please stay safe during this weather."
