In 2014 this section of railway along Dawlish sea wall was severely damaged by a huge storm, you can learn all about it in Dawlish Museum.

One of the best days out in south Devon is a trip on the steam train with @dartmouth_steam_railway
Hop on board at Paignton train station and enjoy an amazing journey through Goodrington Sands, Churston and Greenway, following the beautiful River Dart into Kingswear.
Alight the train at Kingswear and take the ferry across to the historic port of Dartmouth. Dartmouth is home to the Royal Naval College, exquisite restaurants, independent shops, museums and Dartmouth Castle.
It is possible to return to Paignton at the end of the day via the steam train once again, or you could take the ‘Round Robin’ option by sailing up the River Dart to Totnes and returning to Paignton by bus.
From the doorstep of @pilchardcottagedawlish walk to Dawlish train station and catch the train to Paignton… easy peasy! The railway line between Dawlish and Paignton is one of the most scenic railway journeys in the UK.

The waters around the south coast of Devon are brimming with spectacular wildlife.
On our recent boat trip with @funfish_trips we saw Dolphins, a Porpoise, Seals, Oystercatchers, Cormorants, Shags and this huge colony of Guillemots perching on the edge of Orestone Rock in Torquay.
Fun fact: Guillemots are also known as Torbay Penguins!
