Pebble Meadow Retreat has been designed to offer high-spec open plan living in a surprisingly spacious, light filled and private space. With oak flooring, quirky feature tiling, underfloor heating and a cosy log burner this is the perfect place for all seasons. A beautiful well equipped kitchen with full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, double oven, ceramic hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, saucepans, ovenware, dining plates & bowls, cutlery, cooking utensils, egg cups, tea pot, mugs, glasses, measuring jug, serving/mixing bowls, tin opener, corkscrew, lap trays, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cleaning items etc. Folding table and chairs are available if required. The shower suite has a nine hundred by twelve hundred shower tray with overhead and hand-held showers, a full size hand basin, toilet, mirrored wall cabinet and cupboards. High quality bath sheets and hand towels are provided. The hotel quality King-size bed (with an end drawer in the divan for extra storage) boasts a super king duvet and lots of pillows (!). The sitting area with feature fireplace has a comfy two seater sofa, woollen rug, side tables, Smart TV, DVD player, (there are additional USB ports in TV, and HDMI cables are wired in for additional electronic equipment you may wish to bring with you), there is also wi-fi access available. With floor to ceiling windows and French doors opening onto the courtyard area, where table & chairs offer guests the chance to sit outside and enjoy the quiet location (an especially good spot for our amazing sunsets and stargazing!)
Set back from the road, up a long shingle driveway the accommodation is detached from the host's home and in a private secluded position. Kingsdown is a quiet coastal village on the Kent coast surrounded by countryside, an ideal haven from which to explore the surrounding area and beyond. You will have your own keys to your private courtyard garden entrance to access the complete bungalow and its facilities. With your own private parking area in front of the accommodation (a real bonus in this area!). The village boasts 3 public houses, a Post Office, Butcher & deli, hairdressers and General Store - within a 5 minute walk, including the best part of Kingsdown which is the beautiful pebble beach of 'Special Scientific Interest', it blooms with wild flowers against the back drop of the famous 'White Cliffs'. The picturesque coastal cliff and countryside walks are renowned, you can see France on a clear day! There is also a Golf course in the village. This area of East Kent has many historical sites to visit and we are fortunate to have three lovely castles very close to Kingsdown - Walmer Castle is a 25 minute walk away, Dover Castle a 10 minute drive, Deal Castle 5 minute drive - all are managed by English Heritage. Or you can follow the beach promenade through Walmer to Deal for a thriving coastal town full of eateries, cafes, and individual shops, weekly markets, galleries and theatre - and a traditional seaside vibe. Deal has twice been awarded "High Street of the Year" by the Daily Telegraph and listed as one of the 30 best places to visit for a weekend retreat by The Times. Deal hosts many live music events and exhibitions. There is a multi-purpose sports centre with leisure pool at Tides, including indoor tennis courts, sports hall, health & fitness club, and sauna & steam suite. This area offers wonderful picturesque countryside and coastal scenery for walkers and cyclists. Sea, lake and pier fishing make Deal popular with anglers. There are a number of golf courses in the area, including Walmer & Kingsdown Golf Club in Kingsdown village, and the Royal Cinque Ports in Deal and the Royal St Georges in Sandwich.
