We have a lady that we call the ‘the bunny lady’ she knits these amazing bunnies just for us, they are then raffled to help raise money for us. This is her latest bunny, it is at Aphrodite Fish Bar in Sheffield. Susan, her husband and staff sell raffle tickets for a chance to win this bunny. Grief Awareness Week, running until December 8, reminds us of the profound and often hidden impact of loss.

At RoadPeace, we see every day how grief changes lives after a road crash. It’s a time to reflect, remember and amplify the voices of those who live with the devastating aftermath of road deaths.

Every year in the UK, more than 1,700 families lose loved ones in road crashes, while thousands more face life-changing injuries. For each life lost, a web of grief ripples out – parents, children, siblings, partners, friends and colleagues all trying to navigate a world forever changed.

Grief from a sudden and violent loss is uniquely challenging. The shock of a road death often comes with unanswered questions, injustice and a longing for change to prevent future heartbreak.

Grief Awareness Week shines a light on the need to talk about grief openly. For those affected by road crashes, grief can be isolating – compounded by a lack of understanding or acknowledgement from society.

At RoadPeace, we provide a vital support network for those bereaved or injured in road crashes. We create spaces where people can share their stories, seek justice and find comfort in knowing they’re not alone.

Many people who join RoadPeace are driven to turn their grief into action, campaigning for safer roads to prevent others from suffering the same loss. Their voices are powerful, and their advocacy is a critical part of the Vision Zero movement to eliminate road deaths and injuries.

Their stories inspire change and honour their loved ones by working towards a safer future.

It’s been another busy weekend at RysHaven!
Builder Dave putting the first coat of plaster around the window, Jason from North Cornwall Glazing came to measure for the windows & doors, hardcore compacted on most of the parking area & garden area, started to build the dividing wall for the outdoor covered seating area.
