🌟 Introducing RysHaven: A Beacon of Hope in North Cornwall 🌟

We are truly touched by the generosity and compassion of Mark and Helen Saltern, who are turning their grief into something incredibly meaningful.

After tragically losing their son Ryan in a hit-and-run crash, they are transforming part of their home into RysHaven - a free respite accommodation for families who have lost loved ones to road crime💔

Mark and Helen know firsthand how important it is to have a safe, peaceful space to gather your thoughts and grieve. By opening their home to others who are going through the same unimaginable pain, they are honouring Ryan's memory in the most beautiful way.

RysHaven will be a sanctuary where families can find solace, comfort and a moment of peace during the darkest time of their lives. We applaud the Saltern family for their incredible kindness and for creating a positive legacy in honour of Ryan 🙏

A positive meeting with Belina Rauli this evening, director of support services at RoadPeace.
We discussed how we can work together to support families here at RysHaven, to escape the heartache and trauma, giving them a safe environment for them to grieve.

We are pleased to announce our news from the architect 😊👍 that our plans have been passed 🥳
We can now move to the next stage, building regulations, so we are on track to start renovations April/May 2024 🙏

On 28 July 2019 our son Ryan was killed in an horrific Hit & Run leaving us all devastated. We know from experience how important it is to have time to gather your thoughts in peace and quiet and grieve. This gave us the idea to create RysHaven in part of our property. RysHaven will be a free respite accommodation in North Cornwall for families who have lost loved ones to road crime and will create a positive to honour Ryan's memory. We hope you will follow our journey in creating RysHaven 💙

RysHaven update:-
Plans being submitted today by our architect Matt (Mattplans). Fingers crossed🤞 everything goes to plan 😊
It will have garden with seating area to the rear (yet to be designed) with ample parking to the side.
If planning is passed we will have a busy year ahead, as most of the renovation will be undertaken by ourselves, a best friend of Ryan has kindly offered to do the plumbing, which will be a huge help ❤️
We hope you will follow this journey with us and hopefully soon, family members that have lost a loved one to road crime, will be able to escape the trauma and heartache, even if just for a short time here at in North Cornwall 🙏❤️
