This has a good sound to it (though it does not say how many were already of this mindset before Brexit and Covid).

Over half UK adults intend to eat more British produce following Brexit: A survey of UK adults has revealed that more than half are looking to buy more British food and produce this year, in the wake of leaving the EU.
The survey for Cross & Blackwell asked 2,000 UK people over the age of 18 for their opinions, finding that a third are looking to buy British in order to support the economy, whilst 61% said that buying more homegrown produce is a ‘logical choice’.
Nine out of 10 respondents questioned said that following Brexit, they think it is important for major brands to support producers in the UK.

It is a curious subject. How can anything change, ever?
Of course, all human beings want to be dated, by their opposite s*x unless they are gay.
Trans women are men who 'feel' they are women (and so dress and re-sculpture themselves to look like women), so presumably, they want to be dated by straight men - but - they would have known that would be all but impossible from the start.
Are there any candidates?
Another Trans maybe, going in the opposite direction?
A male homos*xual?
Just like the homos*xual who wants (in fantasy) to appeal to the same tall dark handsome man as would be attracted to a beautiful woman but knows that will never happen.
All people can expect to have very close friends, to the point of 'brother' or 'sister' like, which IS (though platonic) dating.
But I would be surprised to find even 2% of heteros*xual men who could be s*xually attracted to a Trans woman.
And so, unless I am wrong - how on earth can anything be made to change.

This time a year ago the world watched on as we heard about a new contagious illness in China called Coronavirus, or Covid-19. We were told it came from someone eating a bat from a wet market in Wuhan.
Life carried on as normal for the rest of the world for the next few weeks until the virus gradually spread around the entire world.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson started a 3 week lockdown on the evening of 23rd of March 2020 🚫
This was then extended on 16th April for a further 3 weeks

This 'The Immaculate Deception' is a pretty eye-opening read.
https://bannonswarroom.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/The-Immaculate-Deception-12.15.20-1.pdf
At one level chilling.
Just the introduction makes this Meerkat wonder if there can ever be free and fair elections - in the face of 'big forces' with 'corrupt inclinations' - without a complete rethink upon how an honest vote is achieved.
" . . . I. Introduction. At the stroke of midnight on Election Day, President Donald J. Trump appeared well on his way to winning a second term. He was already a lock to win both Florida and Ohio, and no Republican has ever won a presidential election without winning Ohio while only two Democrats have won the presidency without winning Florida.3
At the same time, the Trump-Pence ticket had substantial and seemingly insurmountable leads in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. If these leads held, these four key battleground states would propel President Trump to a decisive 294 to 244 victory in the Electoral College.
Shortly after midnight, however, as a flood of mail-in and absentee ballots began entering the count, the Trump red tide of victory began turning Joe Biden blue. As these mail-in and absentee ballots were tabulated, the President’s large leads in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin simply vanished into thin Biden leads.
At midnight on the evening of November 3, and as illustrated in Table 1, President Trump was ahead by more than 110,000 votes in Wisconsin and more than 290,000 votes in Michigan. In Georgia, his lead was a whopping 356,945; and he led in Pennsylvania by more than half a million votes. By December 7, however, these wide Trump leads would turn into razor-thin Biden leads – 11,779 votes in Georgia, 20,682 votes in Wisconsin, 81,660 votes in Pennsylvania, and 154,188 votes in Michigan. . . Every time I have heard Laurence Fox speak, from Question Time onwards, I have thought here is a man who should either open a school to teach politicians how to think sensibly - or - start a movement that the large numbers, if not large percentage, of the public who see their own thoughts in what he is saying, can join. In order to get behind him and be part of a 'similar thinking' group.
Forming a new political party is quite a surprise.
Laurence has said he does not see himself as an MP (and that would distract him from setting the pace),
And it gives him a battle of prising people away from the Conservative Party, and the Red Wall that they have borrowed, So in order to succeed he would have to do better than UKIP and The Brexit Party.
So, it will be very interesting to see his game plan and strategies. And who it attracts.

I was not aware that Burnley football club has entered politics.
Please remind me what stand it took in support of this poor girl from Burnley?
Or, did this white life, in the heart of their town, not matter quite so much to the club as that of an American criminal 4000 miles away?

IF Corona Virus is killing thousands of people in the UK - then - Why are FEWER PEOPLE DYING in these same Feb, March, months this year than died last year, before coronavirus struck?

The media have become fond of pushing very alarming figures into our faces - and linking those figures to a blame game.
But how real are those figures?

Are 'tens of thousands 'MORE people dying than normal - or is it just that a number of people dying now have Corona Virus AMONG OTHER conditions?

There is no doubt that hospitals are making it clear that people are dying of accidents and illnesses, as they always have.
600,000 per year in the UK.

BUT, those who have died who turn out to have the Corona Virus among their conditions are being INCLUDED in Corona deaths figures.

Dying WITH Corona Virus in the body is quite different from them having died BECAUSE OF the virus, as is often being presented.

Here is a May BBC article on this subject: https://www.bbc.com/news/health-51979654.

There seems one quite 'simplz' way to know the actual effect of CoronaVirus upon (the UK) England & Wales - by a study of the number of deaths occurring that, statistically, would not have occurred had there been no virus.

Simply by comparing the number of deaths each month (using week numbers) this year, with the same weeks/month last year, and other years before the virus.

AT THE START:

COVID-19, spread to the United Kingdom in early 2020. The first cases were identified in late January 2020, and transmission within the UK of 15 cases was confirmed in late February 2020. On 5th March the first death where the deceased had COVID-19.

As of 9th May, the overall death toll for the UK has passed 36,500 people, with confirmed infection, who have died.

So does that mean that MORE people are dying every day, week, month than (say) last year - before the virus arrived?

A simplz test is to compare how many MORE people die each month, following the first Corona Virus death in March 2020 - than died in the same month in 2019.

FEBRUARY COMPARISON:

The number of deaths registered in England & Wales in February 2020 was 43,653.

This was a decrease of 2,143 deaths in comparison with the same month in 2019. But it was early days.

By February 29th 2020 there were 15 known cases of COVID-19 and, at that time, no known deaths FROM IT in the UK.

MARCH COMPARISON:
Coronavirus took off in the UK in March.
The TOTAL number of deaths registered in England & Wales in March 2020 (weeks 10-13) was 43,700 - BUT - 43,946 had died in March 2019.
A decrease of 246 in 2020 LESS than in 2019!

So there can not have been 'tens of thousands' more people dying of Corona Virus in March?

We have to assume that April will see a different position - because that has been the month of the virus in the UK peaking - fingers crossed!

But there has been plenty of seeming hype, about and during, the period above. Lies, dam lies and statistics and all that.

WATCH THIS SPACE - and while you are at it - stay safe.

Cry 'God for Liz, England, and Saint George!'

My slight twist (Elizabeth II in place of King Henry/Harry) to Shakespeare's amazing words - that are a reminder of how Englishmen thought and acted in his times - leaves it sounding just as good.
How different are we, who are mere shadows of this description - OR ARE WE? Has the CoronaVirus given us back some of what is described below (shortened version):
Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;
Or close the wall up with our English dead.
In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility:
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage;
Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit
To his full height. On, on, you noblest English.
And teach them how to war. And you, good yeoman,
Whose limbs were made in England, show us here
The mettle of your pasture; let us swear
That you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not;
For there is none of you so mean and base,
That hath not noble lustre in your eyes.
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'
Taken from Henry V, the history play by William Shakespeare believed to have been written around 1599. Therefore reflecting how we English thought about ourselves 420 years ago.
Shakespeare, as every British schoolchild will know (?) tells the story of King Henry V of England, focusing on events immediately before and after the Battle of Agincourt, of 1415, during the Hundred Years' War. That was a series of conflicts from 1337 to 1453, waged between the Plantagenet rulers of England and the French House of Valais over the right to rule the Kingdom of France.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been placed in intensive care at St. Thomas' Hospital in London.
Thoughts are with his children and his pregnant partner Carrie, who is also battling coronavirus.
Boris, with his purpose, direction, strength and energy is an amazing gift that the British people have been given at a time of dire need. First in 'Getting Brexit done', when all around him could not or would not, and then in having the right man at the helm as we found ourselves in a war with CoronaVirus.
Truly, cometh the hour, cometh the man.
But, if we have needed the right leader in these two conflicts - those needs will pale to insignificance when we come to face the demands of the next five to ten years of recovery and growth away from the EU.
His country, and the Commonwealth, need him, and we need him fit and well to lead us into the future we all deserve. There is no one else.
So important to us and our morale is Boris that every one of us in this country should be praying for his speedy, complete and full recovery. Behind Boris and his strength, however, lies his love, Carrie and their baby on the way. And of course, the rest of his family who he will be fighting to be back with. They to need to feel our support and love and prayers.
So come on Boris, and all those Doctors and Nurses and his family and colleagues around him and supporting him. Let's get coronavirus done!
God Bless and a fair wind!

MUFFIN THE MULE MAYBE HAS THE TRANS ANSWER
Given that it seems to be less than 1 in 200 people identify as trans, it seems to be a topic that occupies a disproportionately HUGE amount of argument. And at times very bitter argument.
That argument is, generally, not about the right of any one of us to think and feel and act as if we are a different s*x than our ge****ls and other factors dictate.
We homo sapiens are all free spirits with the right to present ourselves as whatever we wish - and should (it seems Simplz to me) be respected as such universally.
No, the problem is that of a person who is born a man wanting to make use of spaces that belong to women or girls. Toilets, changing rooms and the like.
Which leads to some trans men saying 'but we are women' we want to use this area.
And then people who are born women unsurprisingly replying that a 6 foot man with a beard and a p***s, despite wearing a dress, is a man.
And there is no place for a man in a woman's toilet - or any of their 'spaces'.
This is not likely to go away any time soon - because it feels to most women - and especially the mothers and fathers of girls - like an invasion.
People respond at their fiercest when invaded.
What was needed at the outset was perhaps a situation similar to that of MULES.
Mules are neither a horse or a donkey. A mule is the offspring of a male donkey and a female horse. Horses and donkeys are different species, with different numbers of chromosomes.
This is not quite the same thing as trans though MULES are born as such - just as trans say they are. But - the outcome of a specific name for the type has made everything very easy for all of us to understand, whereas TRANS seems to be a word that causes confusion and argument.
Trans is always going to be wrong because its very meaning is transforming or transitioning.
Not one thing or another. Just started the journey, halfway or going as far as is possible. All are trans - but not all have the same wants or needs as regards their visibility.
No one gets confused about mules, nor has the wrong expectations.
A mule can not do the same things as a horse or a donkey. It can not give birth to a baby mule. Which is a close similarity?
So I wonder WHY OH WHY when the first 'trans' awareness came along - trans people were not awarded a nice name. Disabled is not a particularly nice name for those who need special consideration, but it works perfectly.
And just like disabled people with their own spaces, where appropriate and their own sports events and so on.
Everyone gets it. There is no shame. There but for fortune go any of us. At least similar if not more understood that 'G**s' - who managed to break out of Homos*xuals - by taking over a very nice word.
MULES is a nice word, but it has been taken.
RAINBOWS could catch on perhaps?

I like it when Poppy Day is in view.
As an ex-serviceman it is a very important day in my calendar.
It is nice to see the huge effort that goes in across the country and across all walks of life to sell Poppys - and the engagement of the public with this event, including the wreath laying events.
What shines through is our county's great love and respect for its service men and women.
Especially those who lost their lives in action - serving their country - us all.
But this wonderful event is increasingly tainted by news of actions against Poppies and Remembrance day, by a few horrible people:
Such as a manager of an Aldi (they are of course a German Supermarket) refusing to allow the Poppy seller in their store. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1319906/Aldi-bans-war-veterans-selling-poppies-store.html
Such as a moron (Stella Swain) at Cambridge University Students Union declaring that they would not promote Poppy day - because - seemingly - students should be encouraged to engage in “productive criticism” of war. https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1030033/Cambridge-university-poppy-remembrance-Sunday-student-union
Then there was some mindless desecration of the wreaths laid. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/thugs-who-vandalised-edinburghs-garden-13532858
Then - worse - news of people - not of British origin - but living here - who publicly burned Poppies. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-london-12664346
These people are all a disgrace and do not deserve to be able to live here.
It is good to be able to make more public stand on such things.
So I have been happy to have ordered a new Poppy lapel badge - from the English Democrats. https://www.englishdemocrats.party/_try_burning_these_lapel_badge?utm_campaign=tryburningthesev3&utm_medium=email&utm_source=englishdemocrats

I find myself admiring quite a number of these increasingly scarred activists - who have the courage of their convictions.
Jayda looks paedophiles in the eye and publicly denounces them.
That is not a nice thing to do, says the spineless, moral compassless 'state' currently running Great Britain into the ground.
And like so many of her ilk - in NO FREE SPEECH ANY MORE BRITAIN - she was sent to jail for 'molesting' (as in - upsetting the feelings of) grooming gang rapists and the like - but has just been released from her parole conditions.

IS THIS TOO MUCH TO SWALLOW?
I would imagine that being the Mayor of any of the big cities - such as Sheffield - is quite a challenging job?
Not something that could be done properly part-time I would not think.
And because of that most Mayors usually take home around an £80,000 salary.
it makes sense, we have to attract a good quality of Mayor able to throw themselves at the task.

Something - I suppose - like being an MP.
Quite challenging and not something to be attempted part-time.
And it is for good reason that an MP's salary 1 April 2019 is £79,468, plus expenses.
It makes sense.
We have to attract a good quality of MP able to throw themselves at the job.
But is it possible or a good idea for one man (or woman) to do both - at the same time?

And - aren't there enough good men and women to find one for each?

Barnsley Central’s Labour MP, Dan Jarvis, was elected Mayor of Sheffield City Region on May 3rd 2018, after successfully lobbying Labour’s NEC to overturn its own rules against members doubling as MPs and Mayors.

But in so doing he has upset a number of people who feel this is against 'election law'. Consequently, he is likely to have even less time available for these two challenging jobs - because allegedly he is facing forthcoming court action seeking to have him removed from both posts.

Why do some people have to make life so complicated?
Is this a case of greed, or power mania - or is there some sense in one man doing both jobs?

03/07/2019

IT IS SIMPLZ TO UNDERSTAND - THAT THE UK HAS ALREADY LEFT THE EU - IN LAW.
SO WHY ARE WE STILL TRYING TO LEAVE?
WE CAN NOT LEAVE TWICE.
Both the UK and the EU - Parliament, the press, the Government, and the Judiciary (so far) seem to refuse to recognise what is an irrefutable legal fact.

Perhaps they can not understand it?
Perhaps it was an oversight - but that does not change anything in law (so is speeding!).
Yet you, I, and any child of 5 can understand the position
BUT if it is 'pushed into 'their faces' they ignore it?
CURIOUS

Here are those facts SIMPLZLY put:

01. There is an Act called - The European Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Act 2017 - containing 137 words.

Note: you might like to quickly read yourself into 'entrenched rights' below to freshen up your understanding of the UK's unique system of law - that makes this whole article an easy read.

02. This Act has the highest level of force.
It has become 'constitutional law' as a consequence of several events.
So it can not be 'trumped'. other than by a new specific Act for the purpose.
As explained in 'entrenched law' below.

The last part, 1(2) of this simple law (the 'two line' Act is at the foot) says "no other law, no statutory instrument, no motion" can alter this act.

03. This Act ONLY confers power by parliament for the PM to ISSUE the notice - NOT to withdraw or extend or alter it - once made.

04. Even if Parliament wanted to the UK cannot make a decision about extending Article 50 on its own - it needs the agreement of all 27 other EU countries (EU27).

That is what (is said to have) happened when the original 29 March deadline was extended.

BUT - under what legal power was it asked to do that?

The request was made in a letter from Theresa May to the European Council, on 20 March.

05. Who gave her that power?
This power (to extend, or revoke or alter) does not exist under The European Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Act 2017.

There is no other relevant Act.
There is no other mechanism for her to gain that power.

Who was authorised to approve an extension - which altered the notice ISSUED?

No one was or could be. Other than Parliament passing a NEW ACT - or a modifying act adding to the PM's powers - after the notice was ISSUED..

The European Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Act 2017. was fully in force when the notice was ISSUED under its terms - and - it had the fullest force there is in the UK, of "Constitutional Law".

When an Act is continuously recognised in other judgements - or events - it becomes 'higher law'.
Its ranking was elevated in the reinforcement process by three things:
1) A Common Law ruling in the Gina Miller case.
2) A Common Law ruling in the Metric Martyrs Case.
3) The Brexit Referendum.

The EU - nevertheless - agreed to delay the UK's departure although not the UK's suggested date, of 30 June - and the can is now even further down the road.

Seemingly they (EU) did not notice that it was not a valid request.
A request that the PM was NOT entitled to make (under the precise and specific and limited terms of the law that entitled her to trigger Article 50(2)).

Yet they have lawyers?

06. This 137-word act is so specific in its wording that you and I can understand it without the help of a lawyer.

Including that IT CAN NOT BE OVERRULED other than by a NEW UK LAW.

07. The Act specifically repeals the European Communities Act 1972, and "any other enactment". So - they are gone. So - no help there.

08. Notice was given under the Act that the UK would leave the EU on a date - set in stone - 29 March (two years after Article 50 was triggered) - before midnight on 29 March 2019, UK time.

The act came into effect when royal assent was signified on the morning of 16 March 2017.

The Act authorised the letter from Theresa May invoking Article 50 on the Treaty of European Union.

On Wednesday 28 March 2017 with the authority given by the act Prime Minister Theresa May signed a letter that, on the following day, 29 March 2017, was handed to the President of the European Council Donald Tusk in Brussels by Sir Tim Barrow, the Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the European Union.

That notice invoked Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union and started the withdrawal process of the United Kingdom from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community that was also mentioned in the letter, meaning that the UK has become due to leave the EU before midnight on 29 March 2019, UK time, when the two-year period for Brexit negotiations expires.

There is NOTHING complex about this. Nothing to argue or debate.
The PM's letter would have required a NEW ACT of Parliament to have legal force.

09. No NEW ACT was passed to change what this Act states is THE LAW.

10. Mrs May's extension notice was not legal or valid under this Act.

In Law, she had no 'powers' to write it - and so she did not write it.

It is as if you or I wrote it.

SIMPLZ to me.

ENTRENCHED RIGHTS
An 'entrenched right' for most nations is enshrined with a stronger form of protection from repeals or amendments than a normal law would be.
Therefore, in almost every country, entrenched rights constitute a ‘higher-law’ which should represent the values which a nation holds most dear.
As we do not have a written constitution, The United Kingdom’s legal system does not have any such entrenched rights or values, although this doesn’t mean that equal value is placed on all UK laws.
One reason for this is that the UK has never had an abrupt ‘constitutional moment’ (e.g. a revolution) where the old system was thrown out and a new one was written.
The second reason is that Parliament is sovereign, and thus omnipotent.
Parliament can make or repeal any law on any topic, and whatever law Parliament passes can never be challenged by anyone other than itself.
