Airport guides 👇👇for those who need some help with planning a trip to the airport with a disability 👇

Try to allow plenty of time and plan your stops, including toilets en route to ensure you arrive at the airport in good time to prevent the need to rush around and any panic situations?

To help with planning your journey to the airport, I can highly recommend AccessAblewho are a fantastic organisation who help survey many places around the UK, including airports, to reassure and ease the anxiety of going out.

They also do a fabulous airport guide too, with information such as where the toilets are located, widths of doorways, hearing loops etc.

The list of advice they cover is invaluable. I can highly recommend them to help you plan your journey.

All in all, travelling should be an enjoyable time but for many it is sometimes harrowing and testing experience, so I hope that by doing this article it will help you be as prepared for travelling and to help to ease any anxiety.

Travelling with children ?🧸

Can you take you car seats onboard and can you use your booster seat onboard ?

🍼Will the airline provide baby bassinets ?

🍼Baby bassinets are small cot like structures that are attached to an aircraft bulkhead.
They allow the baby to sleep during the flight.
Weight restrictions and age limits apply.

*It is important to remember that infants aged 2 and under must be on parents lap for take off and landing with a lap strap and during anytime when the seatbelt signs are illuminated.

Also, it is worth noting that many airlines have a limited amount of bassinets available.
If they have them onboard their fleet.

Professional travel advice & information to help you enjoy your holiday.

My name is Angela and I am the founder of Be Travel Smart ®.

Travel is an integral part of our lives, for some it is an everyday occurrence, for others it is a treat and a rare journey. Either way travel needs lots of preparation and research. It is also expensive and once you have booked a holiday there are many things to take into account. With most people working full time, the challenge to find out the information is often fraught with confusion. As most of our staff are experienced in the travel industry, this comes easy to us and we know what works and what doesn’t.

We know how travelling with a disability is stressful and hard. We would like to empathise and raise awareness of this. We know there are so many scam sites offering visas and passports and holidays we want to protect you the consumer from getting caught out.

Travelling with children can also pose many questions, we aim to help you find the answers you need, from seating issues to car seats!

Our social media platforms feed the information to you, combined with travel news and updates from the companies that we know make the rules in aviation.

We hope that you enjoy browsing through our pages and get the information you need for a safe and relaxing holiday.

You can also take a look at our page and our Twitter feed.

Safe travels everyone and if any of our team can help please get in touch on our contact page.

❤️Booking a holiday and flying when pregnant 👇

✅First stop is to inform your airline ✔️

(Most do not allow travel after 36 weeks for a single pregnancy and after 32 weeks for multiple pregnancies)
These dates are for the return date of travel - don't forget!

✅Once you are over a certain stage in your pregnancy, its usually around 28 weeks, most airlines will require a letter from your GP
This is usually to confirm everything is progressing normally, that there are no problems and your due date

MOST airlines do not allow travel after 36 weeks for a single pregnancy and after 32 weeks for multiple pregnancies.

✅Please check with the CAA website/and your airline who should be able to give you more information

✅One thing that often gets forgotten is to inform your travel insurance provider

✅Also to take with you a copy of any pregnancy notes and advice if there are any issues
(One lady had some of the basics of her notes translated before travelling, now that is forward thinking!!)
