Had an unexpected visitor drop in today. He was actually bathing in our water feature - but by the time I had retrieved my phone to get a picture he was wandering off :)

We had a red kite circling yesterday which was awesome. Then a pheasant wandering around today. Lovely to see. but I do hope the first doesnt eat the second....

We have 3, 4 and a few 7 night breaks left in March, April and May so come and enjoy the spring sunshine and Peak District attractions (but with only half the summer visitors).

If any of our are thinking about booking your 2024 break now is the time :) Popular periods are starting to book up now.

The is an amazing place to visit whether you are after:

a short winter break ( fabulous foody pubs with log fires and winter walks) ,

A spring break (enjoy everything bursting into life in the garden, new lambs and calves in all the fields, and all the Peak District attractions with only half the visitors)

summer breaks, to enjoy the countryside and garden, and the Peak District in full summer glory

or autumn breaks for all the amazing colours, and all the attractions and pubs still in full swing.. October/November/December is the time all our Xmas markets start up and the large attractions like Chatsworth, Haddon and Cromford Mills all start putting their Christmas events on.

At Croft Bungalow we can help with:
- a mobile hoist,
- an electric profile bed (with optional cot sides)
- roll-in wetroom,
- wheeled showerchair/commode and other equipment that we can loan (we dont charge for accessible equipment)
-level access throughout
-offroad parking right next to the cottage.

It's a beautiful crisp, sunny day here in Birchover today. A great day for a refreshing walk followed by a delicious lunch and a good pint at The Red Lion!

We're open all day from 12pm, serving food 12pm to 2.45pm/5.30pm to 7.45pm.

We have real ales brewed on site, festive coffee, hot chocolate, mulled wine, and freshly cooked food for you to enjoy.

Its that time of year again in the Peak District. So much to see and do. Anybody fancy meeting the Grinch? (Ruth says I turn into the Grinch when she makes me go Xmas shopping.! - Rude.)

Step into a winter wonderland at Cromford Mills and experience the magic of Christmas like never before! 🎄✨

Every weekend in December, their Christmas Markets will transport you to a festive haven, open from 10am-4pm until 17th December. Dive into the holiday spirit with a unique twist - meet the Grinch himself on 16th & 17th December during the Christmas market! For a heartwarming encounter, visit Father Christmas or indulge in a special story-time breakfast with him at Wheatcroft’s Cafe 🎅

The merry atmosphere continues with live music performances throughout December, and on 15th December join the Cromford Christmas Carol Service, which starts in the Mill Yard at 6pm - a magical evening of carols and community spirit 🎶
