I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself and to tell you a little bit about me and why i have this travel business.
Okay, so my name is Jade, Iโm 30 years old, a Mother of two boys ( 12 & 9) a wife to a very lovely fella called โDanโ PLUS Iโm the Owner & Founder of Dream Travel- Personal Travel Agent.
My aim for my business is very simple, its to build my travel business up over the next few years, to be consistent with bookings and offer you a service others simply cannot. To do this i offer you a personalized, tailored service with expert knowledge: something that i wasnโt getting when booking travel for my family.
Lets go back a few years....
So back in 2011 i got engaged to my boyfriend โDanโ and this was the very moment things shifted, obviously within our relationship but also with my passion to travel and to introduce this yearning to my โFiancรฉโ and to my children, I literally saw the proposal as a way of starting our travels......you ask how?.....Well... by convincing my husband-to-be to get married abroad!!!!
After researching for YEARS! Sending what felt like 50,000 emails and talking to possibly 50-60 wedding co-ordinators from around the world, i sat back and i really thought about what we wanted, what i wanted.... the simple fact was i wanted a very Low-key, Intimate setting and to visit a place that would capture our hearts.....but the most important aspect for me was that i just wanted to marry Dan, it really was that simple.
After what felt like FOREVER! We finally booked our Wedding and brought our passports!
18 months of Excitement and maybe a few Wedding Nerves......
On February 2015 we flew to Cayo Coco, Cuba with 15 guests. We tied the knot on the evening of February 12th in front of our Two Children, Family & Friends..... without a doubt this was one of the best days of my life. This trip to cuba was my Husbands first ever long haul trip, he had been to Disneyland as a child and nowhere else since. I knew this trip was going to change his travel mindset forever....... it was also my boys first trip abroad, a 10 hour flight with a 4 & 7 year old i here you say?....they were absolutely incredible....born to be travellers maybe?? I was hoping so!
Present Day!
Iโm now the very proud owner of Dream Travel, spurred on by my love of seeing the world and experiencing all the sights mother nature has to offer- iโm currently sat in my office after a morning of travel training and maybe cake & coffee??..... iโm back home researching for our next big adventure- USA ROAD TRIP 2021 baby!!.... this is also between completing clients holiday quotations, travel training, location research and everything else that comes with being a Mother & Wife.
Looking back over the last few years i have seen the change within myself, my husband and my two boys: for instance the boys now have a world map, locations pin pointed and a globe in their rooms, they have a bucket list of places they would like to visit and on many occasions i have caught them reading my holiday brochures instead of their school books............oops!! I can most definitely say we have the โTravel Bugโ.
Me and Dan have tried to offer a variety of experiences for both ourselves and our two boys over the last 5 years whilst being mindful that we are not made of money.....every single penny counts and planning is everything.... these experiences include the following: Canaries group family holiday, City break to Dubai, Adventure trip to Iceland, caribbean holiday to Cayo Coco, Cuba- TWICE, Paris & Disneyland & our most recent trip was to Miami & Orlando ( me and dan needed a flipping spa day and a fortnights worth of sleep after this holiday.... haha) if youโve ever been to florida you know how full on it is but its the kids faces that make it soooo worth while ( and maybe the Doughuts at Voo Doo!)
With the travel business, its not always about the holiday bookings, the reviews and the repeat customers ( these are amazing and they help my business tremendously) for me its actually about the memories i know my clients are about to make, i think about my own: watching my husband see the sunrise on the beach in Cuba on our first visit was probably one of the most emotional moments ever, its like he couldnโt believe he was there, he looked like he was in shock, after all the scrimping and scraping and sacrificing lots of things we had finally made it...................seeing the boys swim with dolphins, taking the boys snorkelling in the Caribbean, trying Lobster for the first time at the Lobster shack on Pilar Beach ( boys spat it out, by atleast they tried it! Haha) watching the boys explore Diamond Beach in Iceland, listening to them speak French whilst inside a little French deli buying lunch, Exploring caves in Lanzarote and smiling at the excitement in their voices, the boys riding their very first Rollercoaster โThe Hulkโ in Orlando and laughing hysterically because my eldest was screaming Sooooooo Loud!...all these are proud, happy moments, memories i will cherish forever..... and these are the kind of memories I want for my customers.
...........this is why I love my business.
