One of our fabulous museums on the Black Isle, situated in the very lovely town of Cromarty.

Once you’ve visited Hugh Miller's Birthplace NTS you should pop next door and visit the historic Cromarty Courthouse Museum. Once you’ve done all that, you have a great choice of places to grab a coffee (or more) - Fishertowninn , The Royal Hotel, the Slaughterhouse and Soutars Creek are all worth trying. 😊. If you want something to eat on the go, look no further than the delicious wares of Cromarty Bakery 😊

Good news - from tomorrow we are open seven days a week! 🙌

Hugh Miller's Birthplace Cottage and Museum will be open daily until the 31st August - 11:00 to 16:00 (Last entry 15:30)

Snowy conditions forecast for tomorrow, however, today has been gorgeous. Eilidh and I enjoyed a lovely stroll along Rosemarkie beach. It was high tide but that didn’t stop us getting in a good walk.

Headed west to Assynt yesterday on a recce for new guiding routes. The Highlands was at her best. My mum and daughter came with 😍. We walked up to the Bone Caves at Inchnadamph and then went to Ardvreck Castle and Calda House, both homes of the MacKenzies of Assynt.

A fabulous afternoon with family, out on the water with EcoVentures, who are based in Cromarty. No dolphins this time, but plenty of seabirds, oil rigs and it's great to see the coastline from a different perspective. Plus, there's a lovely cup of hot chocolate waiting for you once you're back on dry land. If you're holidaying on the Black Isle and you like being on the water, then I can highly recommend EcoVentures.

So many new followers this month - thank you. Very slow on guiding posts at the moment so I’m sharing with you some photos of the place I get to call home. I took the photos 5 minutes ago. The light is just beginning to fade. The poultry have been tucked into bed. The bats are nipping around. The horses are quietly grazing; enjoying the coolness of night after another hot day. The moon is glowing and there’s a gentle breeze rippling through the trees. 😊.
