Caerau Gardens. What a little gem on the A494 at Sarnau just past Bala high above the road. Stop a little way after the entrance to look at the view over Llyn Tegid. Gardens are beautiful with little seating areas for you to enjoy the gardens and views and even play croquet on the lawn. Childrens adventure area to boot. Everything is homemade even the bread for sandwiches, soup cakes and scones. Once discovered you will never want to pass even on a wet day. As if that wasn’t enough they sell reasonably priced plants too.

Tywydd yn berfaith i gerdded o Faes Meillion i’r George III ar hyd llwybrau ‘roedd y Crynwyr wedi teithio cyn iddynt ffoi i Pensylfania. Hanes diddorol iawn. Y Stafell Ddirgel. Taith o rhyw 8 milltir trwy tirwedd syfrdanol sydd yn nodwedianol o Sir Feirionydd. Efo afonydd a waliau a cherig gorchyddwyd efo mwsog. Braf oedd cyrraedd y George a cael hanner o ceidr.
Perfect weather for walking from Maes Meillion to the George over paths and steps that would have been walked on by Quakers before their exile to Pennsylvania. Fascinating history ‘Y Stafell Ddirgel’. A walk of about 8 miles through stunning scenery that is typical of Merionethshire with stone walls covered in moss and meandering rivers. It was good to reach the George for half a cider.

Aberdovey a Llyn Barfog. Taith 8 milltir. Golyfeudd arfordirol godidog wrth gerdded i fyny’r bryn a wedyn newid tirwedd i edrych dros Cwm Maethlon. A’r wobyr oedd eistedd wrth ger Llyn Barfog i fyta. Cerdded yn ôl dros y top efo’r ddau olygfa yn dod i’r golwg bob yn ail.
Aberdovey and the Bearded Lake. Walk of 8 miles. Beautiful coastal views on the way to the top. The view then changes to look over Happy Valley. The prize was lunch by the Bearded Lake. Back over the top with both views in sight.

We were given an opportunity, and without hesitation we’ve said yes, Siop y Cymro aka “JAMOS” will reopen very soon , we can’t wait to reopen one of Dolgellau landmark shops.

We are excited to announce the opening of a new business in the historic centre of Dolgellau, specialising in the very best produce that Wales has to offer. We founded The Fork, Cork & Feathers out of a deep love for great food, drink, and life, hence our motto, “Bwyta. Yfed. Byw” or in English, “Eat. Drink. Live”. We truly love living here in Wales and believe that it has some of the most diverse and exciting food and drink producers in the world. We have travelled the length and breadth of the country, meeting on the way some truly incredible producers and learning about their stories and discovering their passion for quality.

Ar ol noson yn mwynhau gwin pefriog o ardal Tokai yn Hwngari a caws Cymraeg Cenarth. Wedi ei bryny yn Gwin Dylanwad ar ol noson o flasu cynyrch o Hwngari. Braf oedd mynd am daith i ddathlu’r flwyddyn newydd i lawr y Torrent.
After an evening enjoying Welsh Cenarth cheese and a bottle of sparkling wine from the Tokai area of Hungary bought from Dylanwad Wines after a Hunarian Evening it was nice to enjoy a New Years walk down the Torrent.
