Perfect weather for walking from Maes Meillion to the George over paths and steps that would have been walked on by Quakers before their exile to Pennsylvania. Fascinating history ‘Y Stafell Ddirgel’. A walk of about 8 miles through stunning scenery that is typical of Merionethshire with stone walls covered in moss and meandering rivers. It was good to reach the George for half a cider.

Aberdovey and the Bearded Lake. Walk of 8 miles. Beautiful coastal views on the way to the top. The view then changes to look over Happy Valley. The prize was lunch by the Bearded Lake. Back over the top with both views in sight.

After an evening enjoying Welsh Cenarth cheese and a bottle of sparkling wine from the Tokai area of Hungary bought from Dylanwad Wines after a Hunarian Evening it was nice to enjoy a New Years walk down the Torrent.

A walk of around 6 miles from Maes Meillion through bluebell woods and a path filled with wild garlic up the Torrent Walk path to the sound of the cuckoo.

A stunning walk to Cwmorthin exploring some of Wales’ significant industrial past. A 5 mile fairly challenging walk through two disused quarries ending up high up on moorland with stunning views over the hills of Snowdonia. You can detour up Moel yr Hydd for even a better view. The last part of the walk is on tarmac track leading from the Stwlan Dam.
