A lovely review left by Mr B who stayed at Raleigh’s in July sums up the house perfectly!

“Raleigh’s is a charming 16th Century half timbered house with a very tasteful interior with lots of old furniture and decorative items. The kitchen and sitting room are very spacious as are the bedrooms. The kitchen is well equipped and opens out to a small private courtyard garden.
Raleigh’s is located in picture perfect village of Cerne Abbas with 3 pubs and an excellent village shop.
We would highly recommend the house to all holiday makers who appreciate a combination of old fashioned charm and modern amenities”

Chapmans Pool is a secluded horseshoe shaped cove on the Isle of Purbeck. With it's remote and rugged landscape it is one of Dorset's best beaches.

📣 Exciting new opportunity for an artist (or collaboration of artists), to work with us to create a Sitting Space along a new Food Trail being created in the Dorset National Landscape.

Our challenge is to design and create a temporary, seasonal or permanent seating installation along the Food Trail, as well as curate some audience engagement for the new space.

The aim is to encourage a wider range of people to connect with the landscape and food heritage of the area. What better way than making creative space to sit down and take time to enjoy Dorset's outstanding landscape!

The total budget for this commission is £20,000, with an additional £1000 available for each of the 3 shortlisted artists to work up initial ideas. Deadline for expressions of interest is 9th April 2024.

The new Food Trail is a project by the Dorset National Landscape team as part of Dorset Council’s delivery of the Rural England Prosperity Fund.
