Historian and author Julian Humphrys escorts most of our 'Tours Through Time' programme of short breaks. 🌼Fine Gardens and Villas of The Italian Lakes with Andy McIndoe, 15th - 20th October 2023 🌼 This is by far, one of our most popular tours and we repeat it in 2023 with a new programme for the Lake Como day. Join expert horticulturist, Andy McIndoe, for this truly magical tour visiting some of the finest gardens in the Northern Lakes. These include those on the Borromean Islands of Isola Bella and Isola Madre, which sit majestically on Lake Maggiore. All the gardens we visit are varied and glorious in their design and range. For this five-night, six-day tour, we stay in a superb lakeside hotel in Stresa on Lake Maggiore, which overlooks the unique Isola Bella. The views from the rooftop terrace and Sky Bar of the hotel are superb and the private jetty, from which we’ll take most of our lake cruises, is a few minutes’ walk away. We will be using small coaches for both of these tours, allowing us to visit wonderful places that are a little off the beaten track rather than regular tourist attractions. Both of these tours will be unhurried and uncomplicated, delivering a personal experience for each of our guests. We only have a maximum of 16 people for each of these tours and are expecting the last few places to go fast - if you are wishing to join us, don’t delay in booking. 🌼 Gardens of West Cork and Southwest of Ireland with Andy McIndoe, 24th - 28th July 2022 🌼 Join us for a fabulous feast of plants and gardens, combined with the charm and hospitality of the Irish people. West Cork is a very beautiful region with stunning mountain views and coastal scenery. This tried and tested programme features not only one of our favourite hotels – the family run Castle Hotel in Macroom – but an incredibly exceptional private garden that was recently credited as being the best garden ever visited by one of our regular clients.
