We're rightly proud of the beautiful beaches here on the Kent coast and on here's a reminder to help us look after these special places.

🌊 Please leave nothing behind - always take your rubbish home with you. Litter, especially single-use plastics (such as carrier bags, food containers, plastic bottles), can devastate sea life and kill seabirds.
🐕‍🦺 Please keep dogs off bathing beaches between May and September and always clear up after your dog (dog poo contaminates the sea with E. coli, which can make people sick). There are stretches of beach where dogs are allowed all year round.

A Roman Lighthouse!

This Roman Lighthouse is the oldest surviving lighthouse in England, and one of three surviving Roman lighthouses in the world. It was built to guide ships into the Roman port town of Dubris, now Dover.
