At this time of year our hedgehogs are active patrolling the church looking for tasty slugs and snails. You might be super lucky and spot hoglets (that's right, baby hedgehogs!).

This Saturday, 1 July, Temporary estate & road closure.
Castle Ward are pleased to be the venue for a Triathlon Ireland approved Sprint Triathlon ran by the Down Triathlon Club which will take place mainly in the grounds of Castle Ward Estate on Saturday 1 July. The cycling part of this event will take place on the main Downpatrick to Strangford Road from the junction at the Castle Ward Estate entrance to the junction at Quay Road, Downpatrick and returning to Castle Ward via the Strangford Road and the Audleystown Road. Diversions will be in place from the roundabout at the Belfast Road, Downpatrick to Strangford via Ardglass, diversions will be in place from 10.30am until 1:00pm.
📌Please note that the main driveway into Castle Ward will close between 10.30am-11.30am due to cyclists using this route, there may be delays in entering and exiting the estate during this time and please note the Shore Car Park will be closed all day. We will not be able to admit horse-riders.
Visitors are welcome to spectate the event, admission times are from 9am and arrival is recommended before 10am, normal admissions to the estate apply.
