Hey, I’m Sophie, always busy running round after my two children and cockapoo Milo! You may catch me in & out of lodges on the park, I support the maintenance team prioritising their workload, ordering, and keeping a schedule of jobs to be done. I also work alongside Lucy running the social media. I’ll share a few of my favourite things to do in the area-

Deer Leap, Priddy holds a special place in my heart with the breath-taking views over the countryside, I would highly recommend going to watch the sunset on a clear day. If you walk halfway along the field, there’s a little curved wall that you can sit in front (open a little bottle of fizz, if you’re like me) and watch the sun go down.

Glastonbury Festival is a firm favourite of mine, 10 minutes from home but feels like you could be anywhere in the world. If you haven’t ever been, you must! As well as all the music and entertainment my most favourite thing to do which I do every year is walk up to the Glastonbury sign and look over the whole festival at night-time, everything is lit up and glowing- it’s really the most amazing view!

If you’re a fish and chip lover- with a view of Chew Valley Lake, The Salt & Malt is the place to go, 20 minutes from the park you can do a woodland walk, a play in the park and then relax with stunning views and the most delicious food.

Perfect break! - Combe Hay
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We’re just back from a wonderful break in Combe Hay lodge. The lodge is gorgeous, everything feels high spec, far better than we have at home! The hot tub was great and the bed was super comfy. We had a lovely welcome pack of biscuits, wine, water, a pint of milk and treats for the dog. Thanks so much for these!

Strawberryfield Park is perfectly located for Cheddar Gorge and the coast. I think we would have ventured out more if the weather had been nicer, though it was good enough to BBQ a couple of times.

The lodges are now firmly on my ‘I’d go back to this place’ list!

Everyone say hello to our Office Manager, Linda 👋🍀

Hi, I’m Linda – originally from Ireland but Draycott has been my adopted home for the last 9 years. I live here with my husband and 2 kids – we love getting out and exploring locally, and further afield! My role as Office Manager is very much behind the scenes – a supporting role for Mike the park owner & our accountant Michelle. Aside from that I support in HR matters and team morale.

If you love the outdoors come and visit us here at Strawberryfield Park, you will be spoiled for choice. Here are some of our favourite walks:
Cheddar Gorge Walk – (you can start this walk from the Park – cross the road and take short lane then take a left on Top Road) Not for the faint hearted but worth it for the panoramic views of Cheddar and surrounding areas.
Ebbor Gorge – (a 12-minute drive from the park) this walk is full of adventure, lots of climbing opportunities for the little ones. Wear good footwear and clothing for this one as there is likely to be some mud and brambles about.
Rodney Stoke Nature Reserve – A beautiful amble around the local area where you can take in the beautiful sights of the Somerset Levels.

Stays at Blackbird Lodge have been carefully designed with family escapes in mind. The open plan living space has plenty of room for the whole family to relax and enjoy with the the corner sofa making the perfect spot to gather the kids and enjoy some games. Meet the Team 🍓

Over the next few months, we will be introducing the faces behind the scenes here at SFP. So let's start with Mike - the founder and park owner.

"Hi, I’m Mike and I’m the MD of Strawberryfield Park. My son Tom and I have lived here for the last eight years, moving from our family home of twenty-nine years in neighbouring Rodney Stoke to set up our new venture. That’s now history. I’m deeply rooted to this part of the west country, in particular Cheddar, Wells, and the surrounding villages.

Together with my band of merry men and women we have built Strawberryfield Park from its beginnings as a redundant strawberry fields and disused farm shop into one of Somerset’s premier five-star resorts. I’m passionate about sharing this beautiful place with our guests, some of whom love it so much that they have stayed twelve times or more. That’s a real testament to what Strawberryfield Park is about and to me, makes all the effort worthwhile.
I’m predominantly to be found on the park and often in the Cider Barn, and I’m always glad to chat over a pint!"

Here at Strawberryfield Park we care about the environment. We have a selection of sustainable eco-holiday homes designed, built, and managed to the highest standards. Here are some of our credentials:
• Most of our light bulbs are LED energy saving.

• All showers, taps and toilets use less water.

• Our Lodges are super insulated therefore using less energy to heat.

• Extensive use of down lighting on lodges and throughout the park prevents light pollution and is kind to wildlife.

• Where possible we purchase goods locally reducing our carbon footprint.

• Sedum roofs are a good source of insulation and help to keep the lodges cool in the summer. They are also a haven for bee’s and other wildlife.

• The timber used to build the lodges is from sustainable sources.

• During the landscaping of the park hundreds of trees have been planted.

"Hello,
I'm Pam (Pamela), Mikes Mum. Mike named this lodge after me on my 80th Birthday. I was really chuffed. He also said, if I wanted, I could plant up and look after the flower borders.
I love my garden in Wells, it's a bit wild, but I think if something takes the trouble to seed itself- I let it. All of the flowers here are cuttings or seeds from there. I hope you like it.
