April is and I’m sure that at some time or another all of us have had to tackle being stressed, under pressure and anxious. I’ve found that getting out into the open and often tranquil landscapes of the Yorkshire Wolds is one of the best things I can do to clear my head, relax and reset. Most of all spending time with Bill helps me focus less on problems and more on the joy he brings to my life. 🥰

As part of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society’s ongoing mission to promote food production and the outdoors, our annual School Veg Box Competition culminates with a grand finale at this year's Great Yorkshire Show! 🥕

For this competition 🏆 Yorkshire primary schools grow an array of healthy produce using supplies of wooden veg boxes, compost and seeds. The children keep colourful diaries to record what they have learned each week and all the diaries and boxes are then put through a preliminary judging round in June.

The finalists’ boxes are then brought to the Showground ready for the grand final and are displayed in the Discovery Zone’s School Garden 🪴

The winning school will be announced during a presentation ceremony in the neighbouring Garden Show on Wednesday 12th July at 1pm 🎉
