Before becoming a Travel Counsellor in 2015, I was a travel agent for a main high street travel agency for over 14 years. Starting as a modern apprentice at 16years old, (I always knew I wanted to work in travel) I then became a travel consultant after completing NVQ levels 2 & 3 in travel services before eventually completing my management training. In the time I have been in the travel industry,
I have also completed different training courses to ensure my knowledge remains in first class and ,unsurprisingly, I have travelled all over the world either on my own, with work or with my family. I regularly get asked ‘what is my favourite destination?’; there are so many and for so many different reasons. I love helping people plan their perfect wedding as I got married in Nissi Bay in Cyprus in 2009, so I do have a soft spot for this beautiful island and its luxurious hotels and amazing sights. My most adventurous trip though has to be when I planned an exciting and, at times, breath-taking world tour which covered parts of Asia, Australia, New Zealand and America. I have also been lucky enough to cruise down the Nile in Egypt, meet the big five on safari in Kenya, as well as take in popular destinations in Canada, the Caribbean, Dubai, Hong Kong, an throughout the Mediterranean. I also have a great fondness for city breaks with my husband having visited, amongst others, Dublin, Barcelona, Rome, Bruges as well as getting engaged under the Jet d’Eau in Geneva. In terms of frequency, I have been to Turkey and Cyprus over 20 times but one of my absolute favourites has to be New York; I will be making my fourth visit very shortly.
