🔥The Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival are thrilled to be hosting acoustic Firepit Sessions, on Friday 19th of April, as part of Eskdalemuir Hub's Wellbeing Weekend.
Featuring two of the UK's most exciting upcoming folk musicians, this will be a night filled with great music in one of Dumfries & Galloway's most beautiful outdoor settings. Keep an eye out on our socials to find out more about our performing artists.
Our Firepit Sessions will also be a space for festival attendees and locals to perform, in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Come along!

A wonderful day out at Arbigland House and Gardens, we enjoyed trying to work out where Helen Norrie Fine Art, stood when she composed her wonderful painting of the Broad Walk that hangs in Rosewall Cottage, New Abbey.

This is in keeping with the heritage of Charles Stewart who donated Shambellie House to the nation as he was a book illustrator and illustrated many ghost stories including Uncle Silas. Great day out visiting Arbigland Gardens with the dog, avoiding the heat. Still very much a work in progress but a delight to amble around. Visit the beautiful Sunken Garden, followed by a walk round the Lake, and Japanese Garden. stroll down the Broadwalk which opens up at the bottom where you can sit on the beach and enjoy the view across the Solway Firth.
Fabulous day out yesterday doing a circular walk taking in Caerlaverock Castle, Ward Law, Caerlaverock Wetlands and Wildfowl Trust and Caerlaverock National Nature Reserve.

Wonderful weekend of walks from the door of Rosewall Cottage. My favourite was a walk to Airds point on Saturday afternoon. Not too wet underfoot and the sunny weather was glorious. The lambs were a delight to see, the birds were in full song and I saw a couple of little egrets on the shore.
