Having been a shepherd/crofter all my life, I’m not what you’d call a fair weather dog handler but for the rest of the winter it’s zoom lessons only folks!

Working sheep in this weather can easily cause pneumonia and it’s hard on the dogs too. In addition I think my level of patience may wain somewhat with this horizontal rain and wind 🤣

This just popped up on my Facebook memory from November 2017. It's been some journey since I started helping handlers to train their sheepdogs. Here's Kelsey Keith's Sassy as a young dog just starting out on her amazing journey.

Wishing you all the very best for 2021. Here’s to staying Covid free and meeting up again for some training and trialling in the New Year.

10/11/2020

Well it’s been a very busy time all summer with the online sheepdog handler training and I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part. I have really enjoyed meeting and helping handlers from all over the UK and Europe.

Every dog I help to train teaches me something and for that I am very grateful and feel very privileged to be in the position to help.

Now it’s time for a rest and to catch up with much of my other work and commitments so I will not be doing any training until Spring time 🌻 (which won’t take long to come around).

I’ll post up here when I plan to start up new online courses.

Stay safe x

Met this handsome chap on the way home from the trial today. Very pleased with how my 14 month old young dog held a rather cheeky Cheviot gimmer today who didn’t like the company of the other three ewes 🙈.

I was placed with both dogs and really enjoyed the day out.

Last week's nursery trial went well for us with a 2nd place with Pat and 5th place with Brynn. Really enjoying being back out trialling after an almost 20 year break.

New venue today with well farmed North Country Cheviot sheep on a good field. Lets see what today brings!

17/10/2020

The first Highland Nursery League Trial was held today in Dunnet. Well run trial, by the Cormack family and the Mey Sheepdog Trial committee. Sheep were fit and sometimes a wee bit challenging but I was delighted to be placed 3rd with Brynn and 10th with Pat on her first outing. Its been many years since I have trialled and it was lovely to spend a day out watching very capable young dogs and enthusiastic handlers.

There is also a brief summary of why I changed to online training and the challenges and benefits. Covid 19 has made me move out of my comfort zone and has opened up many opportunities. Join me on this short course to find out more.

Contact Tina Hartley and her team to book your place.

Places are limited so book today! 10 places available, book early. Email [email protected].
