Ambition returned to Dundee yesterday on her fourth of ten visits in 2024. Hopefully all her passengers enjoyed their day so much in sunny Dundee they will return.

Just in case you are wondering how to get a photo of a cruise ship with a "Dundee" background you need to go nearly all the way to Tayport to get the angle right, though it was a lovely day for a walk. You can just see the Hotel Indigo and WatersEdge in the first photo

This ship was built at Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard, at the mouth of the River Loire, France and she was launched in 1999. She had a $55 million refurbishment in 2019. In April 2023 work was carried out on her engines, propulsion units, rudders and stabilizers, as well as a new coat of paint in Ambassador Cruise Line colours.

Ambition is her fifth name and in 2022 she housed over 1,000 Ukrainian refugees whilst she was berthed in Glasgow.

Cruise ship Crystal Symphony passing Broughty Castle at blue hour Tuesday 27th of August 2024 after spending the day in Dundee she was on her way on Invergordon.
At 8.45 PM it was getting dark so I had I use F 3.2 1/320 and ISO 12800 there was a lot of digital noise.
Timelapse coming soon, I managed to record her arrival on Monday evening and her departure the next evening.

A few photos of cruise ship Crystal Symphony arriving in Dundee Monday 26th of August around 7.30 PM. She arrived from the Nertherlands and will be here all day before heading off to Invergordon this evening.

In the third photo you can also see super yacht Elysian owned by US billionaire businessman John W Henry who also owns Liverpool FC, the Boston Red Sox and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

This super yacht is big but not that big its a lot closer to the camera
