End of a very long day. Took camera 📸 without battery. Doofus 😒 In the spirit of ‘keeping it real’ where we always try and reflect the actual reality of the day here’s the best of the day. 6 trips booked, 2 saw amazing 🐬 1 didn’t see and had a high seas adventure to the @vadundee, one was abandoned due to high wind 🌊 and refunded/ exchanged, last one was cancelled and refunded/ exchanged. Next week of weather looks pretty good if a little breezier.
Highlight of the day was young B( I’ll withhold his name for anonymity). I don’t know B’s age. Around 10 if I had to guess. Mebbe a little more. B is significantly visually impaired, got on the boat and once in had some doubts. There was a wee tear. His mum reminded him about how he’d felt scared when he’d gone horse riding but once he’d pushed forward he’d loved it. Same for Alton towers, he’d loved it in the end. We had a quick chat about mebbe just a wee trip out the harbour, see if he was ok. He was. We arrived at some Dolphin 100mtrs from harbour and they passed by him a few mtrs away and he could see their shape and hear them. We told him the boat tips a bit when it turns bit like the theme park, would he be ok? He would and he liked it. Long story short. We finished the trip at 25mph + and I could hear B screaming ‘yeeeaaah’.
I’ve been feeling a bit sorry for myself working hard and no time. B was the perfect little human. Grateful, excited, careful to tell me how his mum was a better car driver when I jokingly(and clumsily) said ‘ who’s the better driver?’ When chatting after.
There were a ton of kids on the boat facing adversity. I made a point of looking after B because he was the most visually impaired but they all faced their struggles with a bravery most of us have probably forgotten . Anyhoo. Thank you for booking, thank you for reminding me my sh*t to deal with is generally pretty inconsequential. You know who you are. I salute you all 🫡

Roving wildlife reporter wee Sophie Hirst made this brilliant film for us yesterday. Sophie said she counted 396 Dolphins 🐬🤔😲😂 Sound UP for Sophie’s commentary and at one point singing on this one. Sophie’s one of our most frequent passengers along with her sister and Granny and always brings me a joke and requires one from me. My record is poor 😂 Think she’s following in the footsteps of her talented dad Mr @taysideinpictures. Love this 🥰

Ramble: I’m drowning in film and pics of dolphin at the moment. Reels are a big part of our promotion, we also love our music. Without music though this is a petty honest representation of the experience with us atm. There’s been a real lack of sunlight over the last few weeks. Lots of grey pics and films.
