Who would like to buy original picture’s on canvas of the Tay Estuary Dolphins? We’d like to get a feel for demand as we need to make an order tomorrow. These are 60/40cm’s and would cost £59.99 delivered locally to Dundee. We have some other pics as well which we’ll do depending on the take up. Banana for scale(didn’t realise how much they cost 😟). Please let us know in comments if you’d like to buy pic 1,2 or 3 🤗

Who watched ‘Secrets of the spy whale’ last night on BBC2? The story of Valdimir the escaped Russian spy whale. Pretty incredible story and thoroughly reccomend. It’s a sad story with Lots of talk and film of the training of cetaceans over the last 60 odd years for nefarious purposes. Yet another tale of humans doing things that should never have been done.
Belugas are incredible, social, intelligent animals. I’d like to think we do better these days but unfortunately I know that’s not the case 🙁

Silvery fins on the silvery Tay including ‘Rheum’ and ID 1074 who doesn’t have a name. 1074 was named Nonammy as our passenger dolphin ID cards had ‘No name’ by some brilliant kids on a trip and I think that’s going to stick 😏

Where do they 🐬🐬🐬 go when they’re not here I’m frequently asked🤷‍♂️
Answer? They go where the fish are 🐟 🐟🐟
Over the last week they’ve been spotted at Seaton sluice(see last pic) in NE England. They’re frequent visitors every winter in that area. Spotted last week there was the summer star of the Tay estuary ‘Simone’ as well as ID1074. These beasties cover huge distances over short periods of time and are thriving off our East coast.
Thanks to Jo @ North East Cetacean Project who we share info with throughout the year for keeping us informed 😁

The Larick Beacon locally known as ‘The Pile Lighthouse’. 176 years young and still looking incredible with a rainbow 🌈 background taken earlier this summer by us. After several hundred visits this still gets the the heartbeat going every time I get up close😍

📸 6th of August this year 😍
Taken a few hundred yards from the NE tip of Tentsmuir Nature reserve(4 mins from Broughty Ferry with us 🚤). Only a few months ago but seems like a lifetime. Please check the comments to follow our Winter ❄️ business 🛠️
Hope you all have that Friday feeling 🥳

Updates of location and pics of ‘our’ Dolphins coming 🔜 thanks to North East Cetacean Project

We angered the FB gods yesterday by sharing our other business. This set of pics with Tayport in the back from early August will hopefully appease them being very much in line with what we do over here 🙏
I’ll tag our other passion in the comments which we hope will interest you as well but in a much less dolphiny way 🛠️😄🤣
We’d love you to support us 😊

That’s a wrap 🎬 as they say. Long one but we’d love you to take a min 🤗👇
We’d hoped to get out over the October Hols but the weather just hasn’t been good enough. We’d like to say thank you to all the brilliant customers we’ve had out on the water. Many of you have seen dolphins, many haven’t. We’d like to think though that you all felt welcomed, treated with respect and every effort was made to give you an experience to remember 🥰
As a business it’s been a toughie. Broken engines( £20k cost🥺) and bad weather mean we haven’t made any money and that can’t continue. Knowing what we contribute to local tourism, publicity of Dundee and just the pride we see and feel from locals who realise what incredible beauty and biodiversity there is on their doorstep is a bloody good motivator though. We’ll certainly be back next year but I think we’ll mix it up a bit 😏
Meanwhile we’re building a completely different business to be launched shortly. When you see it if you could follow and share we’d be very grateful but even more importantly if you can use us we can survive to get you out on the water for more incredible experiences ☺️

WARNING TO ALL PASSENGERS THIS WEEKEND PLEASE READ!
There are traffic works on the main road(Queen st) into Broughty Ferry which is causing significant delays. We reccomend you leave plenty of time(1hr) for this before arrival. Best to arrive by taking the Arbroath Road and turning down into BF at Sainsbury’s. Take plenty time if your early there’s plenty of opportunity for coffees/ cakes/ bacon rolls 😁
We cannot wait for people and trips WILL leave on time. The tide is not very understanding!

Breezy one today out filming for a pilot episode. Subject was wildlife on your doorstep. No shortage of that here😎 Also brilliant trips today with some lovely passengers 🤗

Only 2 spaces left on today’s special Broughty Ferry to Isle of May return. Approx 5hrs. Departing 1pm. Cost is £90 plus a small booking fee. Unlikely to be repeated this year due to declining weather opportunities. First to message will secure the last 2 seats 😄

Massive thank you to todays passengers 🙏🤗
What a lovely bunch who lucked out with an incredible day of weather 🌞
Porpoise, dolphins, seals, tons of sea birds and unbelievable views of Isle of May and the Forth Estuary. Oh yeah chips and ice cream in Ainster for some 🍟 🍦 😄
I’ll reply to anything tomorrow early and check weather for a revisit tomorrow, it will be after 9am🙂
Here’s a few pics from the hundreds 📸 Haven’t even looked at GoPro yet I have very high hopes 😎

EDIT: SOLD OUT for Tuesday and added some more detail below 👇
Here’s a thought. Weathers beautiful Tuesday/ wed this week and that opens a few unusual possibilities. Would do Perth but tides don’t suit. Show of hand please of who’d be interested in an Isle of May trip. We won’t land on the island but will go round and get as close as we can. We’ll stop off at Ainster for a comfort break as well(now arranged with harbourmaster). Chance of lots of wildlife on the way. Dolphins with luck, minke or humpback if we’re really lucky but lots of birdlife and seals for sure and of course views of the Fife coast and up close to the NNG wind farm. Cost approx £90pp. Only 20 places available. Likely to be the only chance this year. Time approx 1-5pm.
You will need: Waterproofs although we don’t think they will come into play, suncream, snacks/ something to drink, camera 📸, binocs if you have them. We’ll have plenty of time to chat and hopefully you’ll make some new pals on the way🤗

is 6 years old today. We’ve taken thousands of passengers to see it from the water. Over a hundred just this weekend. Must say it was looking 👀 pretty fine today. I had a meeting there recently with one of the board to hear about their plans for the future. It was quite inspirational. It’s brought a huge amount to Dundee so far and looking ahead it’s focused on engaging even more with locals and visitors alike. Onwards and upwards 💪
